Dwan Busts

Tom Dwan - Eliminated
Tom Dwan - Eliminated

Tom "durrrr" Dwan was all in on fifth street against Hernan Novick.

Dwan: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}/{Q-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Novick: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}/{4-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts} (not necessarily in this order, but kings...trust us)

Dwan failed to improve his hand on sixth or seventh street, bringing his tournament to an end.

Monster Hands, Monster Pot

Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

Schulman: {X-}{X-} / {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} {X-}
Gonzalez: {X-}{X-} / {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} / {X-}
Novick: {X-}{X-} / {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts} / {X-}

We caught up with the action on fifth street where Hernan Novick checked, Fabrizio Gonzalez bet and Nick Schulman raised. Novick cold-called and Gonzalez re-raised all in. Schulman re-raised once more and Novick cold-called again. On sixth the action slowed down where Novick check-called Schulman’s bet. On seventh however, the action heated up again. Novick checked, Schulman raised, Novick re-raised, Schulman made it four bets and Novick called.

Schulman instantly turned over {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for rolled up sixes to start the hand that became quads by the end of it. Gonzalez revealed {J-}{J-} for a full house, jacks full of aces. Novick could only muster {8-}{3-}{2-} for a lower full house, threes over eights, and the worst hand in the pot as Gonzalez was eliminated and Schulman scooped.

Luneau in Trouble

Luneau: {x-}{x-} / {4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{8-Hearts} / {x-}
Kostritsyn: {x-}{x-} / {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} FOLDED
Mercier: {x-}{x-} / {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{K-Hearts} / {x-}

Alexandre Luneau completed and was called by Alexander Kostritsyn and Jason Mercier. Luneau bet forth and fifth, the Russian folding on fifth by Mercier continued and also called a bet on sixth. The Frenchman checked on seventh and called when Mercier bet, the American turned over {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{5-Spades} for a rivered flush to win the pot. Luneau was left with barely a couple of thousand chips remaining and was eliminated the next hand, along with Ali Eslami, by Jason Mercier.

Aces Full Tang-alicious

Zolotow: {X-}{X-} / {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} / {X-}
Tang: {X-}{X-} / {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs} / {X-}

We caught up with the action on fourth where Kevin Tang check-called Steve Zolotow’s bet. On all of the next three streets, Tang bet and Zolotow called. Tang turned over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for a full house, aces full of eights, and Zolotow obviously couldn’t produce the quads necessary to beat that as he mucked.

Dehkarghani Done

Matt Glantz
Matt Glantz

Glantz: {X-}{X-} / {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} / {X-}
Dehkarghani: {X-}{X-} / {5-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Spades}{10-Diamonds} / {X-}

Raymond Dehkarghani brought in, Matt Glantz completed and Dehkarghani called. Both players checked fourth and when Glantz paired up on fifth, he bet. Dehkarghani took quite a while before he made the call but on sixth after Glantz bet, Dehkarghani quickly called all in for his few last remaining chips. Glantz showed {3-Spades}[3d} for two pair, sevens and threes while Dehkarghani had {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and was behind with his pair of fives. Glantz’s last card, the {4-Hearts} didn’t improve him so Dehkarghani would need to make a higher two pair or trips to survive. Unfortunately for him, he squeezed the {3-Hearts} and was eliminated as Glantz increased his stack.
