Chip Counts

We Be Grubbin'

Level 22

Our final 12 players are looking a little peckish. We've played four levels, and our dinner break has come. It's an hour long, and play will resume just after 8:30 P.M. here in the Amazon Room.

Boukai Doubles

No Limit Hold'em

The action folded to Rami Boukai in the small blind who moved all in for 56,000. Eric Buchman called in the big, and the hands were opened.

Boukai: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Buchman: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The jacks held as the board ran {k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and Boukai shipped the double up.

Split-Pot Hold'em

Level 22

Under the gun, John Monnette opened to 17,000, and Rami Boukai three-bet shoved for 41,000 from the cutoff. Monnette quickly called when it came back around to him, and he had Boukai in a world of trouble.

Showdown
Monnette: {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}
Boukai: {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}

Boukai needed help in a hurry, and he'd find a most unusual board. It came {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, and the straight on board saves Boukai's tournament life.

Chop it up, boys.

Boukai Short

Stud 8/b

John Juanda: ({x-}{x-}) / ({8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} FOLDED
Rami Boukai: ({x-}{x-}) / {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs} / ({x-})
John Monnette: ({x-}{x-}) / {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} / ({x-})

We reached the table on fifth street, where Juanda checked, Boukai bet, and Monnette called. Juanda mucked, and Monnette called another bet from Boukai on sixth.

Boukai did not lead on seventh, rather he check-called a bet from Monnette. Monnette opened {q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, giving him queens and fives for a high and no low. Boukai mucked, and is now severely short-stacked.

Buchman Extends Lead

Stud 8/b

John Juanda: ({x-}{x-}) / {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{q-Clubs} / ({x-})
Eric Buchman: ({x-}{x-}) / {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} / ({x-})

We reached the table on fourth street, where Buchman was calling either a bet or a raise from Juanda. Juanda slowed down, check-calling on both fifth and sixth, and opted to check-fold on seventh.

Buchman pulled in a monster pot, and is now above the 600,000-chip mark.

King Me

Level 22

Razz

John Racener completed with a {2-} up, and Brent Hanks called with a {6-}. On fourth street, they both pulled a {K-}, and it went check-check. On fifth street, they repeated that same action, pulling the other two kings out of the deck and checking through to sixth. Racner drew an {8-} and bet, and Hanks' {Q-} forced him out of the pot.

Portano Pounding

Level 22

Razz

Adam Kornuth had the bring-in with a jack showing, and Desmond Portano called showing a {9-}. Adam Geyer completed with an {A-}, Kornuth folded, and Portano called.

Portano: (x-x) / {9-}{6-}{10-}{2-}
Geyer: (x-x) / {a-}{q-}{7-}{k-}

Portano picked up the lead on fourth, and he bet it. Geyer called, and he called another bet after fifth street. On sixth, Portano bet it one more time, and Geyer was forced to fold, dropping back to 190,000 again. Portano is making a charge to the top, sitting now with 505,000.
