First Million Chip Pot of Tournament

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Chris Moorman over one mirrion.
Chris Moorman over one mirrion.

By far the biggest pot of the tournament just took place between Chris Moorman and Andrew Owens. WIth Owens was on the button, the Moorman four bet and Owens five bet all in. Both players had well above average stacks and Moorman called the preflop all in with 537,000 behind.

Showdown:
Moorman: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}
Owens: {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: {7-Spades} {K-Spades} {6-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {4-Clubs}

Moorman hit his king on the flop, but from the look on his face one would think he lost. The tournament floorman came over to ensure that both stacks were counted accurately and Moorman had Owens covered by a couple of thousand. Moorman has broken the 1,000,000 chip mark and looks to have 1,047,000.

Set Not Enough For Kwaysser

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Valdemar Kwaysser somehow fell to just one big blind before the start of this hand and he went all in blind. Three players including Kwaysser saw the flop of {10-}{8-}{7-}. Tim Finne put out a big bet to push the other player out of the hand and he showed [10h10]. Kwaysser then turned over his cards one at a time. The first one was a {7-Clubs}, not a bad start, and the second one was a {7-Diamonds} for a lower set. Everyone at the table laughed at the dumb luck of Kwaysser, however his set wasn't enough as the board ran out {k-}{5-} and Kwaysser hit the rail in 43rd place.

Bakes Gets Shaked

David Bakes Baker shipped some stacks over to Gilmore.
David Bakes Baker shipped some stacks over to Gilmore.

Peter Gilmore raised to 11,000 from the button, David Baker raised to 21,000 from the small blind and Gilmore played back at Baker and moved all in. Baker asked for a quick count and called.

Showdown:
Baker: {A-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}
Gilmore: {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts}

Board: {3-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}

Gilmore took the pot with a flush and Baker had to send 139,000 of his stack over to Gilmore.

Four Bet Insta-Fold? Standard

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Chris Moorman raised under the gun to 9,000, Dan O'Brien called from early position and a player in the cutoff re-raised to 26,000. Moorman thought for a bit, asked the cutoff player how much he started the hand with and then 4-bet to 51,000. The player in the cutoff didn't take very much time to grab his entire stack of oranges and make it 105,000. Moorman sighed and insta-mucked his hand.

Moorman still has a healthy stack of around 420,00, but he lost a little bit after that hand.

"Anyone Have a Shotgun?"

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Tim Finne opened for 8,000, Valdemar Kwaysser called from the button and Ionel Anton called from the big blind. The flop came {3-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {7-Hearts}, Anton checked, Finne bet 12,500, Kwaysser folded and Anton called. The turn came {4-Clubs} and Anton bet 12,500. Finne called and the river came {K-Hearts}. They both checked and Anton didn't really want to show his {4-Spades} {2-Spades} but he did because the dealer told him to. Finne laughed to himself, mucked his cards and asked, "Anyone have a shotgun?"

Anton even asked out loud if he won the pot.

Jesse James Duels With Mefodichev

With the board reading {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, Jesse James checked the action over to Vladimir Mefodichev who bet 45,500. James called and then checked after the {4-Hearts} hit on the river. Mefodichev stood up and looked at the stacks seeming like he wanted to bet, but he ended up checking behind.

James showed the {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} which was good enough to win the pot as Mefodichev mucked his cards.

Well, Not Too Much Momentum

A player under the gun opened for 8,000 and got two calls from Valdemar Kwaysser and Ionel Anton. The flop came {A-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {4-Hearts} and the UTG player bet out 9,000, Kwaysser called and Anton called. The turn came {5-Spades}, UTG checked, Kwaysser checked and Anton bet out 22,000. The UTG player folded and Kwaysser called. The river came {K-Hearts}, Kwaysser checked and Anton bet 22,000 again. Kwaysser called and Anton tabled {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} for a turned set. Kwaysser stared at the cards as if he couldn't believe it, but he smiled and mucked his cards.

Chip Leader Takes A Hit

We came into this hand on a flop of {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades} when our chip leader Christian Stricker Kohl bet 40,000 from the small blind. Vladimir Mefodichev called from the cutoff and the two saw the turn {9-Spades}

Kohl ramped it up this time and made a bet of 100,000. Mefodichev tanked for a while and then pushed two big stacks of yellow and a few oranges out to make the call.

On the river {5-Spades}, Kohl almost seemingly gave up and checked. Mefodichev moved all in and Kohl mucked.

After the hand, Mefodichev has 490,000 and Kohl is down to 370,000
