Bye-Bye Geller

After creating a big three-way pot preflop, Maya Geller got her remaining short stack in on a flop of {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds} holding {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. Hoyt Corkins was in there with {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and had Mrs. Patrik Antonius in bad shape. The {6-Diamonds} turn changed nothing and neither did the {9-Hearts} river.

Geller was eliminated from the tournament here on Day 2.

Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

When we came to the table, Dwan was all in in the small blind for his last 400 chips. Action folded to Dan Kelly, who raised on the button. Jennifer Harman called in the big blind, and the flop came out {q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Harman check called a bet from Kelly, and did the same with the {2-Spades} on the turn. When the {j-Clubs} hit the river, Dwan got up out of his chair and starting walking away, conceding defeat. Kelly and Harman checked, and both showed jack-ten for a pair of jacks. Dwan's {10-}{8-} was flipped up, and he was eliminated.

Negreanu on Fire

Daniel Negreanu raised from under the gun and Alexander Kostritsyn three-bet on the button. Negreanu made the call and check-called on the {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop and {Q-Diamonds} turn. Both players checked the {3-Hearts} river and Negreanu showed {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} which was good as Kostritsyn mucked.

The following hand, Kostritsyn raised in the cutoff and Shunjiro Uchida and Negreanu called from the blinds. All three players checked the {2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} flop and Uchida led out when the {10-Clubs} hit the turn. Negreanu raised which got Kostritsyn out of the way and Negreanu made the call. On the {9-Spades} river, Uchida bet once more and Negreanu raised again. Uchida just called and was shown the {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades} of Negreanu for a rivered straight that won the pot.

Harman Flushes Dwan On River

Tom Dwan raised on the button, and both Jennifer Harman in the small blind and Robert Zoellner in the big blind called. The flop came {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades} and the blinds checked. Dwan bet out and both players called. The same thing happened with the {6-Clubs} on the turn, and when the {k-Spades} hit the river, Harman decided to lead out. Zoellner folded, but Dwna tossed in the call. Harman showed {a-Spades}{7-Spades} for the nut flush, and Dwan mucked.

Hawrilenko vs. Lindgren

Erick Lindgren raised from the cutoff only to be three-bet from the player in the small blind. Matt Hawrilenko made the call from the big, as did Lindgren. The {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop inspired the small blind to bet, Hawrilenko to raise, and Lindgren to three-bet. The small blind got out of the way while Hawrilenko made the call.

Both players checked the {3-Spades} turn, which was followed by the {K-Hearts} river. Hawrilenko bet and Lindgren called, only to muck when his opponent showed {K-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Engel Busts Elias in Big Hand

Ari Engel
Ari Engel

Darren Elias raised from under the gun and Roland Israelashvili re-raised as UTG+1. Ari Engel four-bet as the next to act and Elias five-bet all in. Both other players made the call as they saw a {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop. Israelashvili led out and Engel raised. Israelashvili made it three bets and Engel just called. On the {8-Diamonds} turn, Israelashvili bet again and Engel called once more. When the {2-Diamonds} hit the river, Israelashvili check-called Engel’s bet and Engel showed {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for the nut flush. Israelashvili turned over {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for a flopped set that turned into the second nut-flush at the end which was no good in a pretty sick hand. Elias obviously mucked and he hit the rail.
