Right Time for a Cartwright Double

Kyle Cartwright
Kyle Cartwright

Kyle Cartwright got his stack of 29,000 all in preflop and was up against the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} of his unknown opponent. It was no sweat for Cartwright however, as he held the superior {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. The board ran out an uneventful {2-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Cartwright doubled to the chip average.

A Few Chip Counts

Terry Toasted

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

When we came to the table, the river was being dealt out in a three way all in preflop. Todd Terry had {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, but it was unable to improve against his opponent's {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, and he has been eliminated.

Four-Bet Preflop: Must be 6-high

Amit Makhija- 6-High No Good?
Amit Makhija- 6-High No Good?

We just saw a very interesting hand go down between Adam Latimer and Amit Makhija. The cutoff put in a raise of 3,400, and Latimer made it 8,000 on the button. Makhija was next to act in the small blind, and he announced raise, putting out 17,600. The cutoff folded, and Latimer thought for about a minute before calling. The board ran out {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, and interestingly enough, despite all the preflop aggression, Latimer and Makhija checked it down the whole way. Makhija announced "6 high" and Latimer showed the all mighty {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}, which somehow was good enough to win the pot. That's poker folks!

Jungblut Not Stealing These Blinds

Action folded to Brett Jungblut on the button and he put in a raise to 3,800. The small blind quickly tossed his cards in the muck, but the player in the big blind wasn't so fast to act. He peered at his cards, gathered some chips, and then reraised to 9,400.

It appears Jungblut was just trying to pick up the blinds and antes as he gave up on the hand without a moment's thought.

Gill's Tower Takes a Hit

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Carter Gill
Carter Gill

We recently reported that Carter Gill has been amassing a fortress of chips, but his fortress just took a small hit.

On the first hand after the break, Gill called another player's all-in bet during the preflop action.

Gill: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Gill shipped a little over 30,000 to his opponent. Gill still has a lot of chips to work with though as his stack still sits at around 185,000.
