Rabtsov Scooped

Omaha-8

Kirill Rabtsov opened to 500 from under the gun only to have a player two to his left three-bet to 750. Justin Smith smooth-called next to act as the big blind and Rabtsov made the call.

Rabtsov bet out 250 on the {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} flop only to have the preflop raiser make it two-bets. Smith called, the big blind folded and Rabtsov called before the {9-Clubs} on the turn saw both Rabtsov and Smith call a 500-chip bet as the {2-Clubs} landed on the river.

Rabtsov checked, the aggressor bet as Smith folded and Rabstov called. Rabtsov was disgusted when his opponent showed his {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for the second nut-low and a flush to scoop the Russian. Rabtstov however still sits with roughly 33,000 in chips.

Late Arrivals

Michael Mizrachi and John Hennigan have just arrived in today's tournament and are seated on the same table.

Mizrachi - who is the reigning $50,000 Poker Player's Championship - has a well established poker record, while Hennigan doesn't have the popularity that Mizrachi has but still yields an impressive record that includes two gold bracelets, over $3.3 million in winnings and a final table already this year.

Lester Scoops Klodnicki

Omaha-8

Chis Klodnicki just got scooped out of a pot from Jason Lester. We caught the action on the end with 1,500 sitting in front of each player already. This is a split-pot game so when action is heads up, the dealers leave the bets out in front of the player, so we're unsure as to when the money was bet and by who. At any rate, Lester bet the river and Klodnicki called. Lester tabled the {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for top set of aces and Klodnicki mucked.

Matusow Wins Small

Level 2

Omaha-8

Mike Matusow opened the pot from the cutoff with a raise to 500 and was met with a call from the small blind to see a {6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop fell.

Matusow fired out a continuation-bet of 250 and was check-called by his opponent as the {2-Clubs} was dealt on the turn. The small blind checked, and Matusow tossed in 500 as his opponent quickly relinquished.

As Matusow raked in the small pot, a few of the players managed to spot some marks on a few of the cards - the {4-Spades} and {6-Spades} - and as they were replaced, many are probably hoping that the problem that occurred in Event #8: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em doesn't occur.
