Jarvis Shows Courage, Cards

Level 29 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Matt Jarvis
Matt Jarvis

Justin Filtz opened with a standard raise, Matt Jarvis called, and the flop came {4-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Filtz bet 205,000, and Jarvis hesitated briefly before calling. The turn then brought the {10-Spades}. Filtz sat silently for a half-minute, then pushed out enough green (25,000) chips for a bet of 450,000.

Jarvis took his time responding to the bet. Finally, he announced a raise to 1.15 million. Filtz thought about 20 seconds, then folded. Jarvis immediately held up his cards for all to see -- {8-Spades}{3-Spades}!

We'll see if this instance of a player bluffing (and showing) affects the dynamic of what has already been a lengthy, well-fought heads-up battle. Jarvis is up to about 6.5 million now, and Filtz down to 4.4 million.
