Barbosa Building

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Ted Martin was all in with {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} against Joao Barbosa's {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Barbosa's double-suited aces held on the {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} board. Martin made his exit, and Barbosa is up to 310,000. We're down to 46 players and one elimination away from breaking a table. Then we'll still be a whole table away from the money, though at this pace, it feels like we may never get there.

King

Chris King fired 25,000 on the {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop into his opponent Gregory Brooks. Brooks made the call to see the {Q-Diamonds} land on the turn. King bet all in for 93,000 and Brooks made the call.

Brooks: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
King: {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

The river completed the board with the {A-Clubs} and King's set of tens was the winning hand, which allowed him to double up and kick Brooks back a bit.

Winning Pots is Harb

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Three players saw a {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. David Iammarino bet 22,000, and Adeeb Harb raised to 82,000. Vanessa Selbst tanked a minute before deciding to give up her hand. Iammarino elected to flat call, saving himself 46,000 behind. the turn was the {5-Spades}, and Iammarino moved all in. Harb called and it was time for showdown.

Iammarino: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} - nut-flush draw and double gutshot
Harb: {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} - top two pair and a gutshot

The {10-Hearts} river made Iammarino's straight, and he doubled to around 270,000. Harb was left with 115,000.

Goodbye Dwan

Tom Dwan gone
Tom Dwan gone

Tom Dwan has been eliminated at the hands of Justin Schwartz. The two players, along with David Ulliott, took the flop of {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Dwan went all in for 55,500 and Ulliott made the call. Schwartz reraised the pot and that was enough to put Ulliott all in if he were to make the call. Ulliott tanked for a bit and then folded his hand, leaving Dwan and Schwartz heads up.

Dwan was at risk with the {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}. Schwartz held the {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} for top two pair and was in the lead. Ulliott laid down the {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds}, which was no help to Dwan. The river completed the board with the {8-Hearts} and that was also no help to Dwan. Schwartz won the pot with two pair and Dwan was sent to the rail.

Kelopuro Takes a Big One from Lamb

Action folded over to Ben Lamb and he raised to 10,000. Sami Kelopuro reraised to 25,000. Everyone folded back to Lamb and he made the call to take the {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop out of position against Kelopuro. Lamb checked and Kelopuro bet 25,000. Lamb made the call.

The turn brought the {7-Diamonds} to the party and Lamb checked again. Kelopuro stayed on the gas and fired 56,000. Lamb studied for a little bit and then made the call.

The river completed the board with the {5-Hearts} and Lamb checked. Kelopuro took a minute and then bet 143,000. Lamb tanked and tanked, but eventually gave it up and Kelopuro was pushed the big pot.

Don't Fold Jacks, Will

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

A level ago, Will Failla said that he folded jacks when Roger Teska was all in against Tristan Clemencon, and Failla would have made quads. He wasn't going anywhere with his {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} this time. He was heads up in position with an opponent who declined to be identified when we asked earlier in the day. Failla said the flop was {q-}{j-}{8-} with one spade, and his mystery opponent check-called a bet. The {7-Spades} on the turn added the nut-flush draw to Failla's middle set, and his opponent again check-called. The river was the fourth jack, and Failla's adversary kindly bet into his quads. Failla raised and only had to say thank you when his opponent put him all in and was very unhappy to see that his flopped top set and rivered queens full was no good . The Thrill is up to 440,000, but no beef jerky for quad jacks today.

Failla's opponent was fairly short after that and busted to Ludovic Lacay a few hands later.
