Money Monnette

Monnette: (X)(X) / {A-}{8-}{K-}{7-} / (X)
Opponent: (X)(X) / {3-}{9-}{2-}{2-} / (X)

We caught up on sixth and didn’t even catch all of the action there but it appeared as though John Monnette bet and his opponent called. On seventh, Monnette bet again and got raised by his opponent. Monnette made the call and showed {4-}{5-}{6-} for a seven-low which had his opponent’s {A-}{4-}{8-} eight-low beat.

Mizrachi Slips a Bit

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Just before the break, we watched Robert Mizrachi tangle up in a heads-up pot. Mizrachi showed {6-}{10-}{8-}{2-}, and he called bets on every street. His opponent showed {6-}{a-}{7-}{5-}, and when his seventh-street bet was called, he showed up {6-}{4-}{2-} for the sixty-five and the win.

Mizrachi is back down to 8,000.

1-2-3 Mickey Doft

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

A player brought it in with a king up, and the gentleman to his right completed with a {3-}. One more seat over, Mickey Doft raised to 200, and the completer called to go heads-up.

Completer: (X)(X) / {3-}{10-}{a-}{q-}
Doft: (X)(X) / {3-}{3-}{4-}{6-}

The completer picked up the lead on fourth, and he bet it. Doft called, and he called another bet on fifth. On sixth street, the completer checked, and one bet from Doft took it down right there.

With that pot, Doft moves back over his starting stack to 7,700 after being down to 6,000 early on.

Man Down!

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

"Seat open, Table 113!" we heard the call and snapped our head around just in time to see Ted Lawson gathering his things and heading out the doors with his lovely wife.

We're one man down already.

Ship it To Yuvee

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

We picked up the action on fifth street, heads up in a pot between Shirley Rosario and Yuval Broshtein.

Rosario: (X)(X) / {5-}{a-}{k-}{j-} / (X)
Bronshtein: (X)(X) / {8-}{7-}{k-}{5-} / (X)

Rosario led out on fifth street, and Greenstein retook the lead when he picked up the better hand on sixth. Roasrio called there on sixth, and she called one last bet on seventh, too.

Bronshtein showed {A-} {K-} {4-}, and the eighty-seven was good enough to let him drag the pot and up his count to about 8,500. Rosario is down to 5,000.

Win For Cyn-dy

Violette: (X)(X) / {7-}{A-}{6-}{K-} / (X)
Opponent: (X)(X) / {5-}{2-}{7-}{3-} / (X)

On third, Cyndy Violette bet and her opponent called. Both players checked the next two streets and the opponent led out on sixth. Violette made the call and on seventh, we’re unsure of who bet but there was definitely one by someone with a call. Violette revealed {Q}{3}{4} for a seven-low which had her opponent’s {Q}{8}{2} eight-low beat.
