Andreas Krause Eliminated in 5th Place ($44,693)

Andreas Krause - 5th Place
Andreas Krause - 5th Place

After several raises on third, Andreas Krause ended up all in against his nemesis Tommy Chen. Their boards ran out as follows.

Chen: {A-}{5-} / {8-}{10-}{4-}{K-} / {3-}
Krause: {2-}{5-} / {10-}{Q-}{J-}{6-} / (X)

Chen made an eight-low on the end which Krause couldn’t beat since he had a jack-low and was only drawing to a ten-low with his last card to come. Krause got up from his chair to exit the final table area and the dealer flipped up another {10-} for his last card which officially eliminated him.

Porter Gets Value From Chen Again

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Porter: (X)(X) / {5-}{A-}{3-}{3-} / (X)
Chen: (X)(X) / {5-}{A-}{9-}{10-} / (X)

We caught up with the action on fourth where Rep Porter bet and Tommy Chen raised. Porter made the call and then led out on fourth. Chen called the bet and then check-called Porter’s bet on sixth. The action was the same on seventh and Porter turned over {2-}{3-}{9-} for a ninety five which Chen couldn’t beat as he mucked.

Williamson Takes One Down Uncontested

Chen: (X)(X) / {9-}{J-}{J-}{9-} FOLDED
Su: (X)(X) / {7-}{Q-} FOLDED
Williamson III: (X)(X) / {8-}{10-}{3-}{4-}
Porter: (X)(X) / {2-}{10-}{10-}{4-} FOLDED

Tommy Chen brought in, Stephen Su completed and Robert Williamson III, Rep Porter and Chen all called to see a rare four-handed fourth street. Porter led out on and Chen raised behind him. Su got out of the way as the other two remaining players called. On fifth, Williamson took the betting lead and both players called. Williamson led again on sixth but this time both of his opponents folded as he took down the fairly sizeable pot without a showdown.

Porter and Chen Again

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Tommy Chen completed with a {6-}, and he was called by Robert Williamson III ({A-}) and Rep Porter ({9-}) to go three handed. Williamson would pull a king and drop out of the way on fourth street.

Chen: (X)(X) / {6-}{10-}{8-}{10-} / (X)
Porter: (X)(X) / {9-}{9-}{7-}{6-} / (X)

Chen led the betting on fourth and fifth streets, and Porter came right along with calls both times. The lead reversed on sixth, and Porter bet it. Chen called, and they both checked through seventh street. Chen had a look of agony on his face.

Porter showed down {J-}{4-}{3-} / {9-}{9-}{7-}{6-}, and Chen could not beat it. "I paired," he lamented, slapping his cards into the muck.

Porter is up to about 580,000 with that pot, and Chen doesn't like it. "My worst fear is coming true," he said after the hand. Porter inquired, and he repeated, "My worst fear. You're my worst fear at this table."

Chen Takes Down a Monster

Su: (X)(X) / {A-}{8-}{Q-}{5-} / (X)
Porter: (X)(X) / {4-}{10-}{4-}{5-} / (X) FOLDED
Chen: (X)(X) / {9-}{4-}{7-}{4-} / (X)

We caught up with the action on fourth where Stephen Su bet and Rep Porter called. Tommy Chen raised and Su made it three bets. Porter called again and Chen four-bet it. Su capped the betting and both players called. Only one bet went in on fifth as Chen led out and the other two called. The action picked back up again on sixth where it was checked to Chen who bet. Su raised, Porter called and Chen made it three bets. Chen four-bet it and the other two players called. On seventh, Su led out and Porter got out of the way. Chen raised and Su made it three-bets which Chen just called as the players revealed their cards.

Su showed {7-}{3-}{2-} for a 7-5-3-2-A low but Chen flipped up {A-}{2-}{3-} for a better 7-4-3-2-A low which was good to scoop the massive pot. Chen now has around two-thirds of the chips in play.

Su Doubles Back

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Stephen Su
Stephen Su

Stephen Su just tangled up in another pot with Tommy Chen, but this one went a little bit better. By the time sixth street rolled around, the boards looked like this:

Su: (X)(X) / {3-}{J-}{5-}{5-} / (X)
Chen: (X)(X) / {3-}{k-}{9-}{k-} / (X)

Chen asked how much his opponent had left before the last card, and Su went ahead and bet all in dark. Chen peeked at his card and quickly called, tabling {7-}{4-}{A-} / {k-}{3-}{9-}{k-} for the ninety-seven. Su revealed that he was working with ({6-}{2-}) / {3-}{j-}{5-}{5-}, drawing very live with one to come. He squeezed out the dots, then turned over his {4-} to make the winning six-low, doubling back close to 400,000.

Su Comes For Some More

Su: (X)(X) / {2-}{6-}{10-}{Q-} / (X)
Chen: (X)(X) / {K-}{6-}{5-}{Q-} / (X)

We caught up with the action on fifth where several bets went in between Stephen Su and Tommy Chen. Su led out on sixth and Chen just called. On seventh, Su check-called Chen’s bet and Chen said “You got it” as he showed {A-}{A-}{K-} for just a queen low. Su flipped over {5-}{4-}{J-} for ten-low which was good to win the pot.
