Was Chen Bluffing?

Bill Chen raised to 500 under the gun and received a call from the player on the button. It was heads up to the {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop, at which point Chen bet 600. Not only did the button call that bet, he also called a bet of 2,000 on the {4-Diamonds} turn.

When the {9-Hearts} appeared on the river, Chen bet 5,000 and the button quickly folded. Chen told the dealer to turn up one card, which ended up being the {7-Hearts}. The whole table started laughing and insisted the button had been bluffed.

Timely River for Timex

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Michael "Timex" McDonald opened with a standard raise from the button, then Jeff Hakim reraised to 1,900 from the small blind. It folded back to McDonald who made the call.

The flop came {8-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, and Hakim led with a bet of 2,200. McDonald reraised all in, and Hakim called with the 11,450 he had remaining. McDonald showed {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for the overpair, but Hakim had a pair over that with {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and Hakim's kings were still best. Then the {J-Clubs} fell on the river, giving McDonald a set and sending Hakim to the rail as we near the end of Level 2.

Traniello Shanks Timoshenko

Yevgeniy Timoshenko raised to 350 from the cutoff and Marco Traniello, who many may know as the husband of the lovely Jennifer Harman, decided to defend from the big blind. Traniello proceeded to check-call a bet of 475 on the {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop, leading to the {6-Spades} turn.

Both players checked, prompting Traniello to bet 1,000 on the {Q-Clubs} river. Timoshenko looked back at his cards before tossing them in the muck.
