Gates with the Winner

Everyone folded over to Garry "Beast Mode" Gates on the button. Gates put in a raise to 3,000 and his only customer was the player acting out of the big blind. The two players (who battled on the hand before right before this one) took the monotone flop of {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. The big blind checked and Gates checked.

The turn was the {J-Spades} to pair the board. After the big blind checked, Gates checked behind again and the dealer placed the {6-Clubs} out on the river. The big blind led with a bet of 4,000. "Call," said Gates about two or three seconds after the bet was placed. The big blind tabled the {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for jacks and sixes. Gates turned over the {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for jacks and eights. Gates' hand was the winning one and he scooped the pot.
