Ronconi Gives it a Squeeze

Level 29 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Darryl Ronconi
Darryl Ronconi

Adam Geyer opened the pot to 125,000, and Eric Froehlich flatted on the button. In the small blind, Antonin Teisseire called as well, and Darryl Ronconi quickly squeezed all in for 790,000 total. Geyer, Froehlich, and Teisseire all slowly folded in turn, each with a little sigh of frustration. Ronconi's thoughts? "Woo-hoo-hoo!" he giggled as he raked in the free chips.

That squeeze moves him up to 1.225 million.

Ronconi Doubles

Level 29 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Darryl Ronconi got all of his chips in again and this time it was Adam Geyer making the call from the small blind. Ronconi was well ahead with {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} against the {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} of Geyer. The board ran out {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and Ronconi doubles to 800,000 while Geyer falls to 2.35 million.

Ronconi Chops Again

Level 29 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to Darryl Ronconi on the button and he moved all in for 320,000. Both Vanessa Peng and Adam Geyer called in the blinds with a chance to knock out another player.

The board came out {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and the two players left with action checked it down on the first two betting rounds. On the river, however, Peng fired 350,000 and Geyer made the call. Peng had {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} but both of her opponents had a king. Geyer had the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Ronconi the {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The two players chopped it up the main pot while Geyer takes the side pot as well.

Chop it Up

Level 29 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Adam Geyer opened to 125,000, and Darryl Ronconi shoved all in for 325,000. Geyer called, and the two men were poised to chop. Ronconi tabled {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades}, and Geyer showed up {A-Spades} {9-Clubs}.

The board ran out {5-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {A-Hearts} {3-Hearts}, and they'll chop up the blinds and antes.

Passing the Button Around

Level 28 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

There has been relatively little action over the last two orbits or so. Nearly all of the pots are being won with a preflop raise or a follow-up bet on the flop, and there's been very little action past the turn. The chips are more or less where they were at the last count.

You might want to get used to this. There are nearly 250 big blinds in play.

Battle of the Blinds Gives Peng Chip Lead

Level 28 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Darryl Ronconi raised to 125,000 from the small blind after the four players in position all folded. Vanessa Peng was in the big blind and reraised to 275,000. After some thought, Ronconi raised again to 975,000. Peng eventually decided to move all in for 1.8 million and Ronconi wasted little time making the call.

Ronconi: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Peng: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Peng was on the brink of elimination again and needed a lot of help to stay alive. A lot of help is exactly what she got though when the dealer rolled out the {9-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades} for the flop. Now it was Ronconi that was in trouble. The turn {5-Hearts} and river {8-Clubs} were two bricks for him and he sent the biggest pot of the tournament so far over to Peng. He has just 400,000 remaining while she becomes our new chip leader with 3,650,000
