Stein Gets Lucky To Chop

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Sam Stein is one of the hottest players of the 2011 WSOP, and while most of that is no doubt due to his incredible skill, it helps to get lucky from time to time. We just witnessed a perfect example of that, as Stein just survived an all in just a few spots short of the money. Stein got all of his money in preflop against Jason James, who made the call and had Stein dominated.

Stein: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
James: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The flop was a dry one for Stein, coming {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. The turn provided him with outs for a chop, as it came the {2-Diamonds}, pairing the board. Sure enough, the {k-Clubs} hit the river, and both players played their aces to chop the pot and keep Stein's run going in this tournament.
