Welcome Back Ladies...And One Gentleman

Ruby Du- Chip Leader
Ruby Du- Chip Leader

Welcome back to the Rio! We are back here today to bring you all the action from Day 2 of Event #53: $1,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship. Yesterday 1,055 players entered the tournament, and by the end of the day, 141 remained. There was a buzz in the room that we might make the money yesterday, but we ended up 24 spots away.

Coming into the day your chip leader is Ruby Du, who ended up bagging 67,800 chips last night. Not far behind is Carol Tomlinson (63,800), Crystal Sloan-Wallace (58,000), and Pamela Roberts(57,200). Amongst the field of amateurs, there were still a couple big name pros who survived the first day. Erica Schoenberg comes into today with 37,400 in chips, and Karina Jett is rocking out with 30,600 chips. There is also one gentleman who survived the day yesterday, and we will be sure to post if we hear one last big roar from all the ladies in the room.

The plan is to play 10 levels today, though we will stop play before that if a final table is reached. The cards will be in the air in about 30 minutes, so stay tuned to Pokernews for all of your up to the minute coverage of the Ladies Hold'em Championship!
