Katherine's Stahl Here!

We haven't heard much from Katherine Stahl, but she's now back up to 165,000 after winning a small pot of Carol Tomlinson.

The action folded around to Stahl who completed the small blind; Tomlinson checked her big blind, so it was heads-up to the flop of {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Stahl check-called Tomlinson's bet of 20,000, then both players checked the {10-Clubs} on the turn before Stahl bet 25,000 on the river of the {K-Hearts}.

Tomlinson called and Stahl showed {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for the flush. Tomlinson missed her straight flush by that much, tabling {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}. D'oh!

Tomlinson is down to 220,000.

Gloutnez Snaps Off Wolak

Genevieve Gloutnez opened to 18,000 from middle position and Marsha Wolak called from the big blind.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and both players checked. The turn brought a {2-Clubs} and Wolak led out for 20,000. Gloutnez flatted. Wolak then proceeded to push all in on the {7-Diamonds} river. Gloutnez fell deep into the tank, but somehow managed to muster a call.

Wolak: {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Gloutnez: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

"Nice call," Wolak said. "How do you call there!?"

Gloutnez is up to 380,000 while Wolak has slipped to 165,000

Yu Kurita Eliminated in 16th Place ($7,064)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Yu Kurita - Eliminated in 16th Place
Yu Kurita - Eliminated in 16th Place

In a hand that would cripple her, Kurita opened for 18,000 from middle position and action folded around to Amanda Baker, who tanked for a while but then announced she was all in for over 200,000. Kurita quickly called.

Kurita: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Baker: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} board improved Kurita to a set, but gave Baker the winning straight. After the hand, Kurita was down to her last 12,000.

Two hands later, Kurita went all in from under-the-gun and Kimberly Stahl raised to 22,000. Action folded around to Marina Kolbeshkina, who went all in for 103,000 from the small blind. Stahl reluctantly folded.

Kurita: {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Kolbeshkina: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The board came {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and Kurita was eliminated.

Epstein Gets Sized Up

Amanda Sizemore - not just a pretty face!
Amanda Sizemore - not just a pretty face!

Jonathan "The Man" Epstein is down to less than 130,000 after losing a considerable amount of his stack to Amanda Sizemore in one of the few hands we've seen since play resumed.

From under the gun, Epstein raised to 18,000 and the action folded around to Sizemore in the big blind who called before both players checked the flop of {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

On the turn of the {2-Diamonds}, Sizemore led out for 22,000 and Epstein called before Sizemore led out again on the river of the {3-Spades}. Epstein grimaced, licked his lips and tilted his head before starting what could only be a rare conversation with his opponent.

"That looks like a good bluff," Epstein muttered.

"Call it then," was the abrupt reply from Sizemore.

Epstein cocked his head from side to side anxiously, as if he could feel the hundreds of eyes burning into the back of his neck. "I don't know what I can be here."

After about two minutes, Karina Jett called time. The clock was placed in front of him, but with 15 seconds remaining, Epstein reluctantly kicked his hand into the muck and Sizemore shot him a dazzling smile and flashed the {J-Hearts} before raking in the pot.

Sizemore is up to more than 260,000 in chips.

Gloutnez Goes Down

In one of the first hands after the final break of the day, the action folded around to Genevieve Gloutnez who raised to 18,000 from middle position before Marsha Wolak called to go heads-up to the flop of {8-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, which they both checked.

Wolak then led out for 20,000 on the turn of the {7-Clubs} before leading out again for 50,000 on the river of the {2-Clubs}. Gloutnez called her all the way, but mucked after Wolak showed down {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for top pair. Wolak is up to more than 350,000 while Gloutnez is down to about 170,000.
