Pocket Rockets for Pasquarella

We came upon Table 306 just in time to see a short-stacked Michael Cantrell all in and covered by Derek Pasquarella.

Showdown
Cantrell: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Pasquarella: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

The board, which the dealer scooped up before we could write it down, did not deliver Cantrell a jack and he was sent to the rail; meanwhile, Pasquarella is up to 150,000.

Seed Running Good

With the board reading {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and about 5,000 in the pot, the player in the small blind checked to 1996 Main Event Champion Huck Seed who tossed out a bet of 3,500. The player in the cutoff made the call and the small blind folded.

The river brought the {5-Clubs} and Seed put out a bet of 5,525 which his opponent quickly called.

"Two pair," said Seed as he flipped over {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. His opponent mucked his hand and Seed was able to scoop the pot.

Kroon Climbs, Fohrenbach Falls

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

When we reached Table 361, the board read {5-Spades}{k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{a-Spades}. Mark "P0ker H0" Kroon had put out a bet, Fohrenbach raised to 10,850, and Kroon moved all in for over 100,000. Fohrenbach went deep into the tank, and Kroon left his seat to take a short stroll. Someone eventually called the clock on Fohrenbach, and after about 20 more seconds he folded {q-Spades}{10-Spades} face up.

Kroon looked sick. He did not show his hand however, opting to muck it face down and rake in the pot.

Katchalov Can't Catch, Eliminated

Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov

Eugene Katchalov had slowly been grinded down throughout the day, and had just about 7,500 chips when he decided to make a stand. He shoved all of his chips in early position, and Johannes Van Til was the only caller.

Katchalov: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Van Til: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Katchalov would have to win a flip to survive, and the flop gave him no help, coming {2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The {9-Spades} on the turn didn't help either, and Katchalov would need an ace or king to continue on. The river brought the {10-Hearts}, and he was eliminated, ending his 2011 WSOP.
