Tabled Crossed Lovers

Jen Harman has been sitting down at this tournament since the beginning of play, and unfortunately for her, it hasn't gone too well, as she's down to 8,200. Her husband, Marco Traniello, late registered for the tournament, and as luck would have it, he took a seat at the table right next to Harmen's. Virtually every time one folds their hand, they go to the other, exchanging food or words of encouragement. It seems to be working for Traniello, as he is up to 17,000 early on.

Movin' On Up

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

The number on the board has marched its way up to 136 runners, topping the field size for this event last year. That's slightly misleading, since it was a $10,000 buy-in last year, but it's certainly respectable. What's more, the field that has gathered for this stud event is packed with notables.

The best players in the world are with us in the Tan section tonight, and it's quite a privilege to watch them play.

Registration will remain open through the upcoming 30-minute dinner break.

Eskandani Busts Israel

After Owais Ahmed brought it in with the {4-Clubs}, Perry Friedman made the call and a short-stacked Roland Israel completed. Tim Finne then two-bet before Mori Eskandani three-bet. Both Ahmed and Friedman got out of the way, Israel four-bet, Finne folded and Eskandani made the call.

Eskandani: {A-Spades}{J-Spades} / {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} / {Q-Diamonds}
Israel: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} / {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}(X) / {J-Clubs}

Israel got his last 900 in on the turn and was ahead. Unfortunately for him, Eskandani improved to aces up on seventh. "Full house," Israel joked after looking at his last card. Obviously it was no help and he made an early exit.

Mini-Dinner Time

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

We've put half the day in the books, and the players are off for their 30-minute non-dinner break.

Play will resume at 9:45pm local time.

Level: 5

Limits: 250/500

Ante: 50

We Back

Level 5 : 250/500, 50 ante

Play has resumed. We have a couple new tables in play which we'll tell you about in a moment.

How About that Table 376

With registration closing at the start of this level, we had about a table's worth of new players enter the field. The following players are among them, and all happen to be seated at Table 376. It's a superb lineup, and unfortunately for poker fans it's the first table slated to be broke.
