The Chips Are Flying

Lee Goldman fired out a bet on the turn and received calls from Todd Brunson and Nacho Barbero. The same action took place on fifth street, while Barbero folded to Goldman's bet on sixth. Seventh saw Goldman bet for a fourth time, but this go around Brunson opted to give it up.

Brunson: (x-x) / {2-Spades}{J-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts} / (x)
Goldman: (x-x) / {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{10-Clubs} / (x)
Barbero: (x-x) / {4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} / fold

Brunson Busted

While we were observing a hand at Table 447, we heard another dealer shout from across the room, "Seat open on Table 445." We looked over just in time to see Todd Brunson exiting the tournament area. We weren't able to catch the hand, but Brunson took to Twitter to explain what happened:

Here Comes Freddie!

Freddie Ellis
Freddie Ellis

We're big Freddie Ellis fans, and we joined this pot on fifth street as he tangled with Brandon Guss.

Guss: (x-x) / {2-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} / (x)
Ellis: (x-x) / {3-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} / (x)

Guss was the one doing the heavy betting on fifth, sixth, and seventh street, and Ellis called those first two bets. On the river, though, Ellis stuck in a raise, and Guss flatted to see what was what.

What was what was that Ellis had a surprise case of the quads. He rolled over {3-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {3-Clubs} / {3-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, and that's the winner. Amazingly, Guss had made queens full on seventh, and he showed his {Q-} {Q-} {8-} / {2-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} before the dealer pushed the pot away from him.

Finne Doubles Through Violette

We caught the action of sixth street after Cyndy Violette had bet, Daniel Studer called and Tim Finne two-bet. Violette responded with a three-bet, Studer folded and Finne four-bet all in for 5,800 more. Violette made the call and the cards were tabled:

Violette: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} / {5-Spades}{A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} / {6-Spades}
Finne: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} / {5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} / {4-Diamonds}
Studer: (x-x) / {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} fold

Finne got it in good with trip tens and managed to dodge a queen to double.

Turner Turned Away

Tim Finne completed with the {6-Hearts}, and Jon Turner raised with the {A-Spades}. When Finne called the extra bet, off they went heads-up.

Finne: (x-x) / {6-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {7-Spades} / (x)
Turner: (x-x) / {A-Spades} {4-Spades} {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} / (x)

Turner bet fourth street, then called all in for 7,400 when Finne raised. When the boards were run out, the hands looked like this:

Finne: {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} / {6-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {7-Spades}
Turner: {A-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {6-Spades} / {A-Spades} {4-Spades} {K-Spades} {Q-Spades}

Turner's aces were no good as Finne first made kings up, then a full house on seventh street. He's been eliminated.
