The WSOPE Champion Elio Fox Arrives

The current World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event champion has just parked his bum in seat 9 Table #10. Elio Fox can play poker as his WSOPE bracelet and €1,400,000 first place prize testifies. What is even more impressive is the fact that Fox had to overcome the likes of Chris Moorman, Shawn Buchanan and Patrik Antonius on his way to that coveted gold bracelet. Fox shares a table with UK pro John Eames (4), Shannon Shorr (6) and Fabrice Soulier (7).

Eames has had a great start to the 2012 WSOP including an 8th place finish in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em event. Shannon Shorr also cashed in that event and will be hoping to have a more slimmed down schedule this year after playing in an incredible 42 events last year. Fabrice Soulier is another talented Frenchman in our field this morning. Soulier is a WSOP bracelet winner after taking down the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship last year. So far this year Soulier has one cash on his record with a 10th place finish in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud event.

Here is Fox in action:

Fox made it 475 from early position and the player seated to his direct left made the call. It was heads-up to the flop and the dealer gave the pair the {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} {3-Clubs} and Fox check-called a 450 bet. That was the end of the action as the {6-Spades} and {Q-Diamonds} was checked through and Fox turned over {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} for the rivered set. His opponent mucked his hand and Fox was left rueing a missed river opportunity.
