Raymer Making a Late Push

We caught the action on the turn when Greg Raymer fired out a bet and received a call from his opponent. The same action would occur on the rest of the streets and Raymer rolled over a wheel to take down the nice pot.

Raymer: {A-}{2-}{4-} / {3-}{5-}{J-}{6-}
Opponent: (x-x) / {3-}{3-}{8-}{10-} / (x)

Various Chip Counts

Doft Survives

We happened upon Table 366 just in time to see Mickey Doft complete and his opponent in Seat 6 raise. Doft, who started the hand with 2,200, three-bet and then called off when his opponent four-bet.

Doft: {6-}{5-} / {2-}{4-}{K-}{K-} / {3-}
Seat 6: {A-}{8-} / {4-}{2-}{A-}{J-} / {10-}

Doft started off good but things seemed to go downhill. He needed to improve on seventh, and lucky for him, the {3-} allowed him to do just that.

Rodman Puts an End to Mercier's Day

Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

A short-stacked Jason Mercier was all-in in a hand against Matt Hawrilenko and Blair Rodman. Side action saw Hawrilenko fold, and Rodman ended up making a 8-7-6-5-A. We're not sure of all Mercier's cards as he picked up his 4-4-4-7-10 and two mystery cards and sent them to the muck.

Meanwhile both Jason Sackler and Amnon Filippi have been eliminated from the tournament.

Kassela Eliminated From Two Tournament in Less Than 15 Minutes

Frank Kassela, who won this event in 2010, was busy playing Event 16: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em - Six-Handed for most of the day, that is until his recent elimination in 15th place. Kassela then made his way to his stack here in Razz, which had been whittled down to just 300 by the antes and bring ins. "Wow, I still have chips," Kassela said.

He managed to win a pot and build it up to 1,300, but a short time later he would be eliminated after his {4-}{A-}{Q-}{J-}{7-}{K-}(X) failed to beat his opponent's {A-}{2-}{5-}{6-}{8-}. Unfortunately for Kassela, he was eliminated from two tournaments in less than 15 minutes.

Bjorin Will Not Be Making the Final Table Three Years in a Row

At the start of the day we told you that Chris Bjorin, who has an impressive 62 World Series of Poker cashes, would be one to watch in this event on account of him making back-to-back final tables in 2010 and 2011. Unfortunately, Bjorin's run at the final table for a third year in a row has come to an end as he is among the latest round of casualties.
