Negreanu Gets the Double

Daniel Negreanu was down to just a few thousand earlier, but has managed to double up. In the hand, Negreanu opened from early position holding {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and a middle position player called holding {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

On the {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop, Negreanu committed his last chips and the tow players turned their hands over. The turn ({6-Hearts}) and the river ({q-Diamonds}) gave Negreanu the winning hand and he raked in the double.

Lisandro Busts Daniel

Daniel Negreanu has busted from this tournament, with his elimination coming at the hands of five-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro.

When we arrived at the table there was a flop showing {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Negreanu made it three bets on the flop - which put him all in. Lisandro called the third bet and the two players turned their hands over.

Negreanu: {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Lisandro: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

By the time the {q-Clubs} hit the turn, it was all over for Negreanu as he most likely makes his way over to play Event 22: $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball which has just begun.

Tran Wins Off Shak

JC Tran opened it up from early position and Dan Shak made the call in the small blind as the two players took to a {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop. Shak checked here and Tran flicked out a bet. A call from Shak and a {9-Diamonds} would hit the turn. Same as the flop, Shak would check-call a bet from Tran. The {7-Diamonds} was the last card on the board and Shak opted to again check-call.

Tran tabled his {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, enough to see Shak's cards fly into the muck, while Tran raked in the pot.
