Last PokerStars Team Pro Falls

PokerStars Team Pro and the 2011 WSOP Main Event Runner Up Martin Staszko was eliminated. Action was folded around to him in the small blind and he shoved with around 30,000. Noah Vaillencourt was in the big blind and called holding {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}.

Staszko was at risk holding {K-} {3-}. The board ran {A-} {10-} {8-} {3-} {9-} and Vaillencourt rivered the straight to eliminate Staszko.

Elimination Station

Here are a few recent eliminations.

As was just reported Stephen Chidwick lost a chunk of his stack, it appears he wasn't able to recover and was sent to the rail a little bit ago.

Mid Afternoon Chip Counts

Chidwick Loses Chunk

After a series of raises Stephen Chidwick had his shorter stacked opponent all in. It was essentially a coinflip once the cards were turned over, Chidwick holding {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} while his opponent had {A-Spades}{j-Spades}. Both players had a great chance to take down the pot so long as the board went in their favor.

A {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop was positioned in the middle of the table, and Chidwick was immediately behind. Running straight cards or an eight would be his only savior. A {5-Diamonds} on the turn, and a {5-Spades} on the river finished off the hand and Chidwick was forced to send away about 30,000 of his stack.

Betting Dead All the Way

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Don Fleming opened in early position for 3,500 and Anthony McCann raised to 8,200 in middle position. Action folded back around to Fleming and he called. The flop came {K-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} and both players checked. The {J-Spades} turn saw Fleming bet 7,000 and McCann called. The river came {A-Clubs}, Fleming bet 9,500 and McCann called.

Fleming tabled {A-Hearts} {2-Hearts} for a rivered pair of aces with no kicker and McCann had him crushed when he tabled {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} for a set of aces.

Smith Survives

With a handful of raises preflop, we saw Dan Smith and his opponent get to a {Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{A-Clubs} flop. We don't know how the action went, but after a series of more raises Smith's short stacked opponent was all in and at risk.

Smith: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Smith was ahead for now with his set of aces, but any club or jack would ship this pot away from him. A {8-Spades} on the turn was able to calm Smith's nerves a little, but it was the {7-Hearts} on the river that let him breathe easy again.
