"You Know What a Small Philly Is?

Omaha Hi/Low:

On a board reading {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{J-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, an unknown player checked to Sam Grizzle and he fired out a bet. A call ensued and then the same action occurred on the {6-Diamonds} river. "Small philly," Grizzle said in his unique drawl and rolled over {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a full house.

"You know what a small philly is?" Grizzle asked to Ed Brogdan, who spots a Doyle-like cowboy hat. "You grow up on a ranch?"

Brogdan shook his head affirmative that he knew that a "small philly" was a full house and added, "We all knew you had that."

"He didn't," Grizzle reacted and pointed to the unsuspecting caller. Grizzle is sitting just over the chip average with 10,000.

Kicker Problems Send Duhamel Out the Door

Limit Hold'em:

Action folded to 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion Jonathan Duhamel in the cutoff and he put in a raise. Both the button and small blind got out of the way, but Ben Lukas opted to defend from the big. The {9-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop saw Lukas check and Duhamel, who had 1,400 left, put out a bet. Lukas sprang to like with a check-raise, Duhamel three-bet before calling off to a Lukas four-bet.

Showdown

Duhamel{10-Spades}{9-Spades}
Lukas{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Both players had flopped middle pair, but Duhamel had kicker issues. Neither the {J-Clubs} turn nor {6-Diamonds} river would provide him the help he needed and he exited in the middle of Level 7.

Zewin Ousted

Stud:

When we arrived at Table 23, Don Zewin was collecting his things and we naturally assumed he had been eliminated. A quick check of the cards confirmed this as Zewin's {6-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}(x) failed to overcome the {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} of his opponent.

Zewin, who was fresh off his runner-up finish to Phil Hellmuth in Event 18: $2,500 Seven Card Razz, became one of the first causalities of Level 8.
