Fischman's Comeback Ends

Scott Fischman in action on day 1
Scott Fischman in action on day 1

"I was down to just 2,500, and then I tripled and doubled up," Scott Fischman just told us right after he lost a 50,000-chip pot against Rep Porter. A comeback was near for the 2004 double bracelet winner, but Porter, who also has two WSOP bracelets, made a better hand.

Fischman told us he opened to 3,500 after which Porter moved all in from the small blind. Fischman called, and risked his remaining chips.

Porter stood pat, and Fischman took one card. He told us afterwards he folded a {J-}.

Rep Porter{8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}
Scott Fischman{8-}{6-}{5-}{2-}

Fischman was drawing live, but didn't have a ton of outs as he needed to catch a four, three or deuce in order to stay in the race. He drew a {7-} to improve his hand, but that wasn't enough.

Penalty for Cantu!

Brandon Cantu hasn't really received a penalty but he should have one in our opinion after he eliminated Leo Margets.

We didn't catch the hand but Cantu has leaped into the chip lead with a massive 185,000 chips.

Just as we were about to publish this post Michael Mizrachi eliminated Dario Alioto to level things up with Cantu.

Exciting times at the top!

Libson Stays Alive

Bradley Libson was just all in pre draw against Jesse Martin for his last 8,475. Both players took one card.

Bradley Libson{9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}
Jesse Martin{9-}{8-}{4-}{3-}

Libson hit a {2-} in order to improve his hand while Martin hit a {10-}. Libson stays alive while Martin still has a big stack in front of him.

Seidel Takes Care of Hansen

Erik Seidel is ominously (for his opponents) building chips. The latest donation to his cause was from Steven Hansen.

Hansen moved all in for 6,226 from under the gun and all folded to Seidel in the big blind. He called and stood pat as Hansen drew one.

Seidel opened {q-}{j-}{10-}{7-}{3-} and must've knew he was behind but was banking on Hansen drawing a king, queen, or pair.

Hansen tabled {8-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and his draw card was an {a-}.

Bryan Micon Eliminated in 30th Place ($2,593)

Bryan Micon just got eliminated, but unfortunately we didn't catch the action. His Twitter page told us he lost with a pat eight versus a pat eight.

We are down to 30 players.

Both players cashed $2,593 and are no longer in the event.

Margets' Jack No Good

From the cutoff Leo Margets raised to 2,200, and she got three-bet to 6,600 from the button by Ryan Tepen. Both blinds folded and Margets tanked for a bit before she decided to call.

Margets drew one card, as did Tepen.

Margets was first to act and put out 8,000 and she got quickly called by Tepen.

"Jack," Margets announced after which Tepen turned over his {9-}{8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Margets mucked and Tepen took this one down.
