Sarkeshik Falls in 20th Place

Vincent van der Fluit raised to 24,000 from the button only to have Ali Sarkeshik move all in from the small blind for 195,000. Mikhail Timoshin then called from the big blind, which prompted van der Fluit to fold.

Showdown
Sarkeshik: {A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Timoshin: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Sarkeshik needed help and found a little on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, but it was going to take more than a pair of fives to over comes Timoshin's pocket nines. The {4-Spades} turn put out some chop options, but the {J-Diamonds} river would miss Sarkeshik completely. He was eliminated in 20th place and leaves with a $12,603 consolation prize.

Dentale Nails the Flop

Michael Dentale opened for 25,000 under the gun and cleared the field all the way around to Max Steinberg in the cutoff. He opted for a three-bet to 57,000, which sent Dentale into the tank for a bit before he moved all in. Steinberg made the call and was primed to eliminate his opponent.

Showdown
Steinberg: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Dentale: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

As we've seen a couple times today in crucial hands, the dominator soon became the dominated. It happened when Dentale spiked a jack on the {J-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop. Steinberg did pick up a diamond draw on the {7-Diamonds} turn, but the {2-Hearts} was a big a brick as they come. Ship the double to Dentale.

Barta's Pocket Rockets Cracked By Quads

We didn't catch the exact action, but we do known that Jeffrey Barta got his stack all in preflop with the granddaddy of all hands, {A-}{A-}, which was well out in front of Vitaly Meshcheriakov's {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

Unfortunately for Barta, the flop would deliver the {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} to give Meshcheriakov quads! Barta couldn't catch running aces and his day came to a brutal end in 21st place, good for $12,603.

Blind Versus Blind

In a blind-versus-blind situation, Ryan Teves moved all in for 116,000 from the small and was called by Lisa Hamilton in the big.

Showdown
Hamilton: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Teves: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

Both players had huge hands in their respective blinds, but Teves was the one at risk. In order to survive, he needed to improve, though he didn't do it on the {7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop. The {8-Diamonds} turn was just as useless to Teves, but the {K-Clubs} river was not as it gave him the winning pair, much to Hamilton's displeasure.

Baldwin Runs Into Kings

A short-stacked Joe Baldwin moved all in under the gun for 104,000 and was called by Dylan Hortin in middle position. When action reached David Nicholson in the big blind, he moved all in over the top and Hortin got out of the way.

Showdown
Nicholson: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Baldwin: {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Baldwin's best chance of winning was to catch an ace, but that proved easier said than done as the board ran out {2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Baldwin became our 23rd-place finisher and takes home $12,603 for his efforts.

Hong Loses Another Race

When action folded to him on the button, Jay Hong moved all in for 138,000 holding {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and received a call from the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} of Ryan Laplante in the big blind.

It was another race situation for Hong, who came up short on the last one. Unfortunately for him, the result would be the same here as the board ran out {7-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Laplante took down the pot with a pair of aces. Hong finished in 24th place and takes home $12,603.

Double for the Dutchman

Vincent Van der Fluit
Vincent Van der Fluit

Action folded to Vincent van der Fluit on the button and he moved all in for 114,000, which Jay Hong called from the big blind.

Showdown
van der Fluit: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Hong: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}

It was a classic race, but van der Fluit needed to improve. As it happened, that's exactly what he did when the flop came down {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and delivered him trips. Neither the {2-Diamonds} turn nor {J-Hearts} river were the four Hong needed, and van der Fluit doubled to 242K.

Mefodichev Can't Overcome Steinberg's Jacks

Action folded to Max Steinberg in the cutoff and he put in a raise to 23,000. The button and small blind both got out of the way, while Vladimir Mefodichev chose to three-bet to 110,000 from the big blind. Steinberg responded by moving all in and Mefodichev called off his last 55,000.

Showdown
Mefodichev: {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Steinberg: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The {3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop gave Mefodichev a good sweat as he picked up a flush draw, but neither the {7-Hearts} turn nor {K-Spades} river would complete it. Mefodichev was eliminated in 25th place for $12,603.
