Laplante Wins Monster Pot to Take Chip Lead

Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

Cole Lane opened for 7,000 from early position and found calls from Ryan Laplante and Seneca Easely, who were in the hijack and button respectively. The {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop saw Lane check, Laplante bet 9,600, and Easley fold.

Lane thought for a moment before announcing all in for around 110,000 total, but knew he was in trouble when Laplante snap-called.

Showdown
Laplante: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Lane: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Lane picked the wrong spot as Laplante had flopped a set, and the {2-Diamonds} turn left the former drawing dead. After the {5-Spades} was run out on the river for good measure, Laplante was pushed into the chip lead.

Meanwhile, Vitaly Meshcheriakov has made some moves today and finds himself just behind Laplante.

Libson's Disastrous Day Ends

Brad Libson began Day 2 of this event as the chip leader but his tournament is over after a rocky three levels here in the Amazon Room. We noticed Libson sending a large chunk of his stack over to fellow pro Matt Stout, and on the next hand Libson was involved in a three-way all-in preflop with {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs} against {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

The {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades} board improved Libson's hand but gave another player the winning set. Libson and the other player were sent off to the cashier to collect their $2,767.

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

After doubling big through Sebastien Lebreton, Michael Dentale lost a little back. It happened when action folded to him on the button and he raised to 4,000. The player in the small blind then moved all in for 56,300, and Dentale made the call.

Showdown
Dentale: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Dentale was dominated and wouldn't get lucky as the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Dentale Doubles Big Through Lebreton

Michael Dentale limped under the gun and cleared the field all the way to Sebastien Lebreton, who raised to 5,500 in late position. After the button and blinds got out of the way, Dentale made the call and then check-called a bet of 7,500 on the {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop.

Dentale checked once again on the {Q-Clubs} turn, but this time he moved all in for 67,800 after Lebreton bet 12,000. The latter made the call with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, but it was behind the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} of Dentale.

The {7-Diamonds} river was of no consequence, and Dentale received a big double to 153,000.
