From under the gun, Ted Lawson raised to 6,000. Micah Smith called on the button and Sammy Farha called from the big blind.

Mercier Heating Up

Aubin Cazals, winner of Event 6: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Mixed-Max, raised to 4,000 before Jason Mercier reraised to 14,000. Action folded back to Cazals and he called.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Cazals check-called a bet of 13,700 from mercier.

The turn brought the {K-Clubs} and Cazals checked. Mercier bet 44,500 and Cazals tanked for a bit before check-raising all in for roughly 110,000. Mercier called with the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} and his set of jacks was ahead of the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for Cazals.

The river was the {4-Spades} and Mercier won the pot. He busted Cazals and moved to 309,000 in chips.

Brown Busts DeMaci

Several players limped preflop, and the flop came down {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Chris DeMaci and Andrew Brown began a betting war, and eventually DeMaci was all in for 115,000 chips.

DeMaci: {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Brown: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Niether the turn ({k-Spades}) nor the river ({10-Diamonds}) improve DeMaci's hand enough to double, and he was eliminated from the tournament.

When we reached the table, Joe Cada called all in for 32,900 after a raise from Sammy Farha, and Micah Smith raised an additional 50,000 from the small blind. Jerome Bradpiece cold-called from the big blind, and Farha called as well.

"If I win," Farha announced. "Nobody laugh at my hand, please."

The flop fell {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and Smith moved all in for 140,000. Farha and Bradpiece released, and the hands were opened.

A Preflop Prophecy

"I'm going to give you a bad beat," Matthew Kirk told Artem Metalidi before the flop came down {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

Metalidi moved all in for around 29,000, and Kirk made the call.

Kirk{a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Metalidi{a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Kirk's queens and fours held as the turn and river came {2-Clubs}, {6-Clubs} respectively, eliminating Metalidi from the tournament.

"I knew I was going to give him a bad beat," Kirk announced as he was pulling in the pot. "I wasn't lying."
