Lee Eliminates Khan; Assumes Chip Lead

Wow.

And just like that our Day 1 chipleader Hafiz Khan is gone. We noticed an empty seat where he was sitting and rushed over to get the details.

Apparently Ronald Lee and Khan got into a blind vs. blind preflop raising war. Khan was the first to go all in for roughly 80,000 after five-bet shoving from the big blind. Lee called and hands were revealed.

Lee: {Q-}{Q-}
Khan: {7-}{8-}

The board ran safe for Lee and he again scooped a massive pot - propelling him into the chiplead almost entirely at the cost of Khan.

Lee is sitting on a dominating 210,000 stack.

Phillips Eliminated

We caught up with the action in a three-way all in pot, where two-time bracelet winner Carter Phillips was at risk for his last 16,000. Carter held the {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} against one opponent's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and another's {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and the player with nines made a set to scoop the entire pot and eliminate Phillips in the process.

Arieh Takes a Hit

Josh Arieh raised to 2,800 from early position and found one caller from the player in the big blind.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Spades} and the player in the big led out for 4,200. Arieh called to see a turn, which brought the {A-Spades}. Not backing down, Arieh's opponent fired again - this time for 8,800. Arieh again called and a {Q-Hearts} completed the board.

Arieh's opponent fired a hefty 20,000 into the middle and Arieh decided to give up his hand.

Arieh is down to 28,000.

Solomon Slips

Action began with a player in the hijack position, who opened to 2,800 from the Jarred Solomon three-bet to 6,500 from the button and action folded back around to his opponent, who four-bet to 15,500. Undeterred, Solomon five-bet to 32,000 and his opponent called.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{A-Spades} and Solomon's opponent check-called a 21,500 bet from Solomon. Both players then proceeded to check down the {3-Hearts} turn and {7-Clubs} river.

Solomon's opponent revealed {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and it was good, as Solomon mucked without showing.

Solomon was knocked down to 87,000 as a result of the hand.
