Schwartz Steaming

Luke Schwartz
Luke Schwartz

Omaha-8

David Baker just raised if up from the hijack and Luke Schwartz called on the button. Both blinds folded and the flop came down {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

Baker bet 25,000 and Schwartz instantly raised it up to 50,000. Baker called. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The river was the {5-Spades} and Baker bet 50,000. This is when it got interesting.

"How the f*** do I miss this f***king draw!" Schwartz shouted as he held his cards high up in the air.

Schwartz sat motionless for about five seconds before slamming his cards, {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, hard onto the table.

"Matt Glantz would never f***king miss that!" Schwartz cried out as Andy Bloch couldn't keep a straight face. Schwartz shook his head, and went over to his rail to complain some more about how he missed this massive draw. Schwartz still has plenty of chips left, while Baker moved back up over the million chip mark.

Two Hands Involving Klodnicki

Omaha-8

John Monnette raised from the hijack seat and Chris Klodnicki reraised from the small blind. Monnette called and the flop came down {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Both checked.

On the {9-Clubs} turn, both checked again and the {4-Clubs} landed on the river. Both checked again.

"Aces," announced Klodnicki before turning over the {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. He won the pot as Monnette mucked his hand.

On the next hand, action folded to Andy Bloch in the cutoff seat and he raised. Klodnicki reraised on the button and Bloch called.

Bloch check-raised on the {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop after Klodnicki bet. Klodnicki called to see the {3-Spades} land on the turn. Bloch bet and Klodnicki called.

On the end, the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. Bloch bet and Klodnicki called.

Bloch showed the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a set of tens and Klodnicki mucked his hand.

Ivey Eliminated By Blom

Stud

Phil Ivey has just been eliminated at the hands of start-of-the-day chip leader Viktor Blom. These two are no stranger to one another, having played plenty of high-stakes action online together.

Ivey lost a very big hand recently against Joe Cassidy and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi that left him with just a bit over 100,000 in chips. All the money then went in on a hand of Seven Card Stud against Blom.

Phil Ivey{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades} / {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades} / {x-}
Viktor Blom{K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} / {10-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} / {4-Clubs}

On third, Ivey completed and Blom called. Pairing his king on fourth street, Ivey tossed out a double bet of 40,000. Blom threw in 20,000, but the dealer instructed him the bet was for 40,000.

"Can I take it back?" asked Blom before finally making the call.

On fifth street, Ivey bet his last 23,000 and Blom called before the hands were exposed. Ivey had a pair of kings and Blom had just four Broadway cards.

"I'd have been all right with that," said Ivey, citing Blom asking to take his bet back on fourth.

As the boards ran out, Blom made a flush on sixth street. Ivey was up and out the door before getting his seventh street cad as he was drawing dead. His hand was mucked and he was eliminated just a few spots short of the money.

Chidwick Jumps into The Lead

No-Limit Hold'em

Stephen Chidwick raised under the gun to 25,000, and the action was folded to Ben Yu. Yu was on the button, and he put in a three-bet to 70,000. Chidwick called.

The flop came down {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{J-Spades}, and Chidwick check-called 125,000. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Chidwick checked once again.

Yu fired out a hefty 250,000 chip bet, but it didn't impress Chidwick. The Brit moved all in, and Yu tanked for a bit before folding.

Chidwick has grabbed the chip lead, while Yu has been knocked far down.
