Baothang Nguyen was one out away from continuing a great comeback, but Matthew Woodward has just eliminated him in sixteenth place.

We reached the table with the flop reading {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}. Nguyen checked from the big blind, and Woodward tossed out a bet from middle position. Nguyen check-raised, and Woodward called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, and and Nguyen led out. Woodward raised, and Nguyen re-raised all in for 32,000. Woodward called.

The {j-Hearts} slammed down on the river, giving Woodward a set of jacks, and the knockout.

Cary Marshall raised in middle position, Jonathan Duhamel made it two bets on the button, and the action folded back to Marshall, who called. The flop came down {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, and Marshall checked. Duhamel bet, Marshall check-raised, and Duhamel re-raised all in for 17,000. Marshall called.

The {q-Diamonds} on the turn gave Marshall two extra outs to eliminate Duhamel, and the {a-Diamonds} spiked on the river, eliminating Duhamel in 17th place. The 2010 Main Event champion falls just short of capturing his second career WSOP bracelet, but takes home $7,303 for his efforts.

Nguyen Doubles Twice

On the first hand back from break, Baothang Nguyen raised in middle position. Jason Manger called from the small blind, and Nguyen's last T1,000 chip went in the middle after the flop fell {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. Manger called.

The turn and river came {k-Clubs}, {10-Diamonds} respectively and Nguyen doubled.

A few hands later, Nguyen limped in from the small blind, and Paul Berende raised from the big. Nguyen called, and the flop came {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}. Nguyen led, Berende raised enough to put Nguyen all in, and Nguyen called.

The {j-Spades} on the turn gave Nguyen a flush, and he dodged a fourth spade when the {q-Hearts} completed the board, doubling him to about 55,000 chips.

Nguyen check-called a second bet, and the river was the {10-Diamonds}.

Nguyen check-folded, and Virtue is now over the 200,000-chip mark.

Marshall Calls Brown Down

Chad Brown raised out of the small blind, and Cary Marshall defended his big. The flop came down {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and Brown led out. Marshall called.

Brown led again on the turn ({a-Clubs}), and the river ({k-Hearts}), and Marshall called him down. Brown tabled {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for jack-high, and Marshall had that beat with {8-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a pair of eights.

Young Flops Nuts, Doubles

Brandon Young raised in middle position, Stephen Hung three-bet on the button, and Cary Marshall cold-called from the big blind. Young called as well, and the dealer fanned {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Marshall led out, Young raised all in for 7,500 (less than a true raise), and Hung called. Marshall re-raised, Hung called, and the turn was the {j-Spades}.

Marshall check-called a bet, and the {7-Diamonds} completed the board. Both players checked. Marshall tabled {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for a pair of tens, Hung showed {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a jack-high flush, and Young showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for the nut-flush.

He doubled to 84,000, while Hung won a small side pot.
