Danzer Chipping Up

George Danzer (Event 42) wins the pot.
George Danzer (Event 42) wins the pot.

Badugi

When we reached the table, George Danzer, Matt Glantz, Matt Hawrilenko, and a fourth opponent were headed to the first draw. All four players drew one card, and checked.

On the second draw, all four players drew one card again, and the action checked to Hawrilenko, who bet. Danzer raised, the opponent in first position called, Glantz mucked, and Hawrilenko called.

On the third draw, the player in first position drew one, and Hawrilenko and Danzer both patted. The action checked to Danzer, who bet, and only Hawrilenko called.

"Seven-six-five," Danzer announced, tabling {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Hawrilenko mucked, and Danzer raked in the pot.

Brown "Used Up His Run Good"

Limit Hold'em

Andrew Brown and Jason Lavallee were heads up with the board reading {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Lavallee led out, Brown raised, and Lavallee called. The turn was the {5-Spades}, and Lavallee checked. Smith bet, and Lavallee called.

When the dealer pulled in Brown's bet, he noticed it was a a few green T25 chips short. Brown tossed them forward, and Lavallee made a joke about Brown shorting him.

"Oh yeah," Brown chuckled. "That's me. The angle-shooter."

Lavallee checked dark before the {6-Spades} completed the board, and Brown checked behind. Lavallee tabled {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for the nut-flush, and Brown unhappily spiked {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} onto the felt.

"I had you stone dead on the flop," Brown announced.

"Not stone dead," Lavallee corrected him, raking in the pot. "I still got there."

"Whatever," Brown shot back. "No breaks for me today. I used up all my run good."

Brown has had a good series - he finished second in Event 39: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha ($408,393) and eleventh in Event 32: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. ($28,862).

Staszko Busts

According to Owais Ahmed, Martin Staszko was recently eliminated after multiple bets went in preflop in a hand of no-limit hold'em. Staszko was eventually all in and at risk with two jacks against Ahmed's ace-queen, and Ahmed caught a queen on the flop, to eliminated Staszko.

Ahmed also mentioned that he and Staszko had just gotten into a preflop raising war the hand before.
