Lippert Lunges Into Chip Lead

We caught up to the action with the board reading {4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. A player bet 10,500 into Adam Lippert who pushed out a raise to an unknown amount. Lippert's opponent replied by announcing that he was all in and Lippert shrugged before announcing a call, showing {J-Hearts}{10-Spades} for top pair with no diamond.

Lippert's opponent tabled {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a diamond and the overcard as outs. The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Lippert was able to hit two pair on the river with the {10-Hearts}, ensuring his opponent's exit from the tournament.

From our counts Lippert is now the chip leader with about 370,000 in chips.

Double For Dannenmann

A player opened to 8,000 from middle position and Steven Dannenmann peered down at his cards from the small blind and moved all in.

"How much more?" asked Dannenmann's opponent.

"It's about 126,000," replied Dannenmann jokingly. Dannenmann's actual all in was for 20,000 total.

While Dannemann's opponent was counting out his calling chips, Dannenmann continued with his table talk.

"Just think of your image here. If you fold they'll say 'Wow, he's one of the best!"

This statement did nothing to deter his opponent so Dannenmann kept going.

"Think about after I leave," Dannenmann continued. "After I leave there will be no entertainment. This table will start playing serious poker."

Dannenmans opponent laughed and tossed out a call, tabling {A-Clubs}{8-Spades} but was behind Dannenmann's {A-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

The board fell {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Dannenmann was able to score a double up to stay alive in this tournament.

Young Crippled

We don't know how Jordan Young got down so low, but when we last caught up with him we saw him call the all in of a shorter stacked player at the table only to find that he was dominated.

Young:{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Young was in need of a king in order to send his opponent home. Fourth street brought the {9-Diamonds} which gave Young jacks as straight outs.

A king came on the river, pairing Young, but unfortunately for him it was the {K-Diamonds} and gave his opponent a diamond flush. Young shipped over a double up for his opponent and left himself with only 63,000 in chips.

Schneider Cut in Half

A player in middle position open-shoved all in for his last 68,000. Action folded around to Tom Schneider in the small blind, who announced he was all in himself. The big blind folded and hands were revealed.

Schneider: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}

Schneider was poised for the knockout, however, the {2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Spades} board left Schneider's opponent with a king-high flush on the river and he doubled through.

The two-time gold bracelet winner is down to his last 53,000.

Notable Eliminations

We caught up with two-time bracelet winner Brock Parker as he was heading to the cage after busting from the tournament. He informed us that he called min-raise out of the big blind with {6-Spades}{5-Spades} and got it in on the {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}. He was called by a player with the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and his opponent got there when two more hearts came on the turn and the river.

Also to hit the rail was 2005 WSOP Main Event runner up Steve Dannenmann as well the Athanasios Polychronopoulos who won this very event last year.

Childs Stack Takes a Hit

Lee Childs opened to 12,000 from middle position and directly behind him, the player in the hijack seat pushed all in for his last 31,500. Action folded back around to Childs, who asked for a count and made the call.

Childs: {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and left Childs' opponent with a king-high flush for the double.

Childs still has plenty of chips to work with, however, as he is sitting on 290,000 at the moment.

Steinberg Catches River

The player under the gun opened to 12,000 and Max Steinberg three-bet to 34,000 from the cutoff. Everyone else at the table shot their hands to the middle and action was back on the original raiser who called the bet.

The two saw a flop of {Q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and both players checked to the turn. The dealer flipped up the {K-Clubs} on the turn and the original raiser checked for a second time. Steinberg moved 32,000 into the center of the table and his opponent called.

The river completed the board with the {6-Clubs} and they both checked once again.

"A pair is good," said Steinberg's opponent. Steinberg tabled the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a rivered pair of sixes and his opponent looked visibly perturbed.
