Nghi Van Tran Getting Back Into The Groove

Nghi Van Tran is trying to shake off the cobwebs of defeat that were just smothered over him by Will Jaffe. Jaffe raised to 120,000 on the button and Tran called in the big blind. The flop was {Q-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds} and Tran check-called a 135,000 Jaffe bet. The turn of {7-Hearts} was checked through and action continued on the {10-Hearts} river. It was Tran who led for 150,000 and Jaffe folded.

Then in the next hand Joseph Kuether raised to 120,000 on the button and Tran three-bet to 230,000 from the small blind to close off the action.

Tran: {A-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Jaffe: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board came {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} giving Jaffe a set of tens for the winning hand.

Ken Fishman - 5th
Ken Fishman - 5th

In what turned out to be the 4th all-in since the dinner break we eventually had a call and the inevitable showdown. When it happened it was Ken Fishman who shoved and Joseph Kuether who made the call.

Kuether{A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}
Fishman{Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}

Board: {7-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {3-Clubs}

No jack for Fishman and he leaves us in 5th place. Kuether extends his lead at the top.

No we are not talking Bob Marley here. The first three hands after the break have all been all-in's.

Jason Tompkins Eliminated in 6th Place ($85,981)

Jason Tompkins - 6th place
Jason Tompkins - 6th place

Jason Tompkins raised it up to 100,000 and action was next on Joseph Kuether who three-bet to 245,000. The rest of the table folded and Tompkins moved all in. Kuether made the call, and cards were tabled.

Kuether: {A-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Tompkins: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board came {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} and despite a flush scare on the turn, Kuether came out on top and sent Tompkins to the rail.

Muhamet Perati is Eliminated in 7th Place ($64,414)

Muhamet Perati -7th
Muhamet Perati -7th

The action folded around to Joseph Kuether in the small blind and he moved all-in. Muhamet Perati was in the big blind and he made the call.

Kuether{Q-Spades} {9-Spades}
Perati{A-Hearts} {10-Hearts}

So Perati had a slight edge, but all that would change on the flop.

Board: {5-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {6-Spades} {2-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}

Perati could not find the ace needed to stay alive and in fact Kuether nailed a third queen on the river just to make sure.
