Martin Raus Eliminated in 17th Place ($44,110)

Martin Raus on Day 2
Martin Raus on Day 2

Eddy Sabat had just doubled through Andrea Dato when he decided to limp on the button. Tony Hachem completed from the small blind, and Martin Raus checked in the big.

The flop came down {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and both blinds checked. Sabat bet 16,000 and Hachem called. Raus put in a raise to 70,000 and Sabat moved all in. Hachem folded after which Raus called off for around 300,000 chips.

Raus showed {8-Spades}{6-Spades} and was out in front against Sabat's {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. The turn was the {K-Diamonds}, giving Sabat some extra outs. The river was the {A-Spades} and Sabat was visibly happy to get there. Raus is out, and Sabat is closing in on the average stack again.

Carter Phillips Eliminated in 15th Place ($44,110)

Carter Phillips - 15th Place
Carter Phillips - 15th Place

Carter Phillips raised out of the small blind, Christopher Brammer defended his big blind, and the flop came down {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Phillips led for 65,000, and Brammer raised to 150,000. Phillips called.

The turn was the {a-Spades}, both players checked, and the {3-Hearts} completed the board. Phillips checked again, and Brammer slid out a tower of green T25,000 chips, betting 650,000. It was more than enough to put Phillips all in, and after he tanked for two minutes or so, Phillips called.

Brammer tabled {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a full house, and Phillips mucked his hand.

"People just always have it," Phillips lamented.

Jason Mercier Eliminated in 14th Place ($44,110)

Jason Mercier - 14th Place

The action folded to Shannon Shorr, who moved all in for effectively 370,000 from the small blind. Jason Mercier called all in from the big blind, and was ahead.

Shorr: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Mercier: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop gave Shorr a pair however, and both the turn and river were bricks as the {6-Hearts} and {6-Diamonds} fell, eliminating Mercier from the tournament.

Shannon Shorr raised under the gun to 125,000, and Gregory Merson three-bet to 265,000 from the hijack. Andrew Lichtenberger was on the button and he four-bet to 405,000. Shorr opted to fold, and Merson moved all in. Lichtenberger made the call.

Lichtenberger showed {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, and he was out in front against Merson's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

The flop brought out {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, and Lichtenberger needed to dodge a ten to survive. The turn was the {10-Hearts}, and Merson filled up his straight. Lichtenberger could still chop if a queen hit or win with a heart, but the river was the {A-Clubs}.

We are down to five players.
