Chip Counts on Break

Martin Raus Eliminated in 17th Place ($44,110)

Martin Raus on Day 2
Martin Raus on Day 2

Eddy Sabat had just doubled through Andrea Dato when he decided to limp on the button. Tony Hachem completed from the small blind, and Martin Raus checked in the big.

The flop came down {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and both blinds checked. Sabat bet 16,000 and Hachem called. Raus put in a raise to 70,000 and Sabat moved all in. Hachem folded after which Raus called off for around 300,000 chips.

Raus showed {8-Spades}{6-Spades} and was out in front against Sabat's {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. The turn was the {K-Diamonds}, giving Sabat some extra outs. The river was the {A-Spades} and Sabat was visibly happy to get there. Raus is out, and Sabat is closing in on the average stack again.

Sabat Doubles

Tony Hachem opened from under the gun, Andrea Dato three-bet from the small blind, and Eddy Sabat moved all in for 215,000 from the big blind. Hachem released, and Dato called.

Dato{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Sabat{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs}, and Sabat doubled to 460,000.

One Diamond Away From Massive Pot

In a blind battle the action was on Christopher Brammer who was in the small blind. The flop read {J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and he bet 47,000. Shannon Shorr was in the big blind, and he made the call.

The turn was the {8-Hearts}, and Brammer grabbed chips once more betting 116,000. Shorr took ten seconds to make up his mind, and called.

The river was the {2-Spades}, and when Brammer checked Shorr immediately checked behind.

Brammer showed {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, and he had missed both his draws. Shorr showed {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and took down the pot with top pair. A diamond on the river could've made things explode, while Brammer was saying a seven would've made things interesting as well.

Shorr is now also over seven figures while Brammer keeps hovering around the same stack.

Maimone Takes from Flack

Layne Flack opened to 37,000 from the cutoff, Nick Maimone defended his big blind, and the dealer spread {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Maimone check-called a 65,000-chip bet, and the turn brought the {q-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

The {a-Diamonds} completed the board, and Maimone led out for 100,000. Flack called, and Maimone tabled {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of aces. Flack mucked, and is down down to 230,000 chips.

Josh Brikis Eliminated in 18th Place ($44,110)

Josh Brikis (Day 2) - 18th Place
Josh Brikis (Day 2) - 18th Place

Josh Brikis was all in preflop for his last 325,000 with {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Carter Phillips had him at risk with {a-Spades}{j-Spades}.

The {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop gave Phillips the lead, and neither the {10-Spades} on the turn nor the {k-Diamonds} on the river saved Brikis from elimination.

Tony Hachem Ends Reiman's Run

Ty Reiman
Ty Reiman

From the cutoff Tony Hachem raised to 36,000 and Ty Reiman moved all in from the button for 340,000. Hachem made the call.

Hachem turned over {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}, and Reiman was looking good with his {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}. The board wasn't pretty for the 2010 PCA runner-up, because this is what it came down to; {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

Reiman was eliminated in 20th place and he will go home with $35,422.
