Kyle Bowker is the latest addition the rail, with his elimination coming at the hands of Scotty Nguyen. The last hand of Bowker's night began when Nguyen opened the pot from the hijack seat. Bowker had a short stack and moved all in from the big blind. Nguyen made a quick call and the two players turned their hands over.
Nguyen:
Bowker:
The was no help to Bowker, with Nguyen managing to scoop up the pot with his two-pair fives and kings. Bowker goes home in 16th place, taking $12,881 with him.
After doubling Randy Ohel, Stephen Su was left with 43,000 and committed it two hands later from the button after Scotty Nguyen had opened for 27,000 from middle position. Kyle Bowker came along from the big blind, Nguyen called, and then both active players checked the flop.
When the hit the turn, Bowker check-folded when Nguyen bet pot. "Good lay down, baby," Nguyen said. "I have the nuts here." He then rolled over while Su revealed .
The river was of no consequence and Nguyen dispatched Su in 17th place.
We missed the start of this hand on Table 440 due to an all in and call on Table 441 (of wich resulted in a chopped pot), but we did manage to catch up on the action when it was really heating up. When we were at the table it was Viacheslav Zhukov first to act on the turn of a board. He bet the pot, which was 100,000. Johnico thought for a long time before making the call and the would then be dealt on the river. Zhukov again bet pot and Johnico again went into the tank. If Johnico called she would have to give up the majority of her stack. Eventually she folded and sent the big pot to Zhokov as he now takes the chip lead from Johnico.
Folded to Chris Bell in the hijack, he raised it up to 27,000. Randy Ohel then shoved all in for around 90,000 in the big blind. Bell thought for a long time before making the call, prompting the two players to turn their hands over.
Bell:
Ohel:
The flop was not good for Ohel and he thought so too, getting out of his seat and getting ready to leave. The turn gave him outs to the flush and the was the gin card, seeing Ohel double through Bell.
Mickey Appleman was the shortest stack in the room heading into the final 18 and has now been eliminated. The last hand of Appleman's tournament saw him get his stack all in holding on a flop. His opponent held and by the time the turn and the river were dealt, Appleman would be eliminated in 18th place.
Jesse Cohen and Antoine Saout have just been eliminated close to simultaneously on their respective tables, seeing us redrawing down to the final two tables. We caught the action from the flop over on Cohen's table, with Cohen getting all his chips in against Felicia Johnico on a . Here is how the hands looked.
Johnico:
Cohen:
The turn changed very little, but the river was enough to give Johnico the win as Cohen was sent home in 20th place.
Just a few moments later and we noticed Antoine Saout was being sent to the rail holding against on a board. Saout was officially sent packing in 19th place.
With that, we are down to 18 and will have the redraw posted very soon.
