Lunkin Up, Jaka Out

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

We just saw Vitaly Lunkin check-raise the turn from the under-the-gun plus one position. On the tabled we had {4-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} | {4-Spades} and Lunkin check-raised the 225 bet by the player on the button to 700. His opponent made the call after which they both checked the {K-Clubs} on the river. Lunkin tabled {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for the missed flush draw but he had hit his king on the river. That was good enoughm the player on the button mucked.

Faraz Jaka is nowhere to be found anymore. We don't know exactly what happened but he's on his way to another tournament here in Las Vegas.

Matros Plays Position

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

Matros, seeking a bracelet in his fourth consecutive WSOP, played his position perfectly when he and a middle position player called the 75 raise from the player under the gun.

The player UTG continued for 225 on a {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, the player to his direct left folded and Matros called. Both players checked the {a-Clubs} turn. The player UTG also checked the {6-Clubs} river, giving Matros the go ahead to take the pot with a 425 bet. His opponent folded and Matros was happy to add some chips to his stack.

MacPhee Busts Raymer

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

Greg Raymer is still talking at table GOLD 1, but he doesn't have any chips in front of him anymore. Raymer just gave his last chips to neighbor Kevin MacPhee in a preflop allin situation. MacPhee held {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} against Raymer's {A-Clubs}{7-Spades} and the board came out {Q-}{5-}{3-} | {4-} | {A-}. We don't know what happened to Raymer before but he's defintely out. He busted 10 minutes a go but is still talking to MacPhee about no-limit single draw.

It's Getting Busier

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

We started out with to many players, probably because of some other tournaments in town today. Slowly but steadily more players are entering the Brasilia Room though:

Obrestad Starting Strong

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante
Annette Obrestad (from Event #7)
Annette Obrestad (from Event #7)

Annette Obrestad raised to 50 from under the gun and a middle position player made it 175. Obrestad called and a flop of {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} was dealt.

Obrestad checked to her opponent, who continued with a bet of 200. Obrestad raised to 575 and her opponent called.

Obrestad led for 975 on the {6-Clubs} turn and got a call. The {9-Hearts} river prompted an all in Obrestad and after some thought, her opponent made the call. Obrestad showed {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} and her opponent's cards hit the muck.
