Duckworth Takes Half of Messy Pot

Level 10
Randy Ohel saved the day at Table 5.
Randy Ohel saved the day at Table 5.

Omaha Eight or Better

Tim Duckworth put enough in the pot preflop to get two short stacks all in.

Duckworth: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Seat 1: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Seat 3: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-}{8-}{4-}{2-}{j-}. Duckworth was entitled to half of both the high and the low with jacks and eights with ace kicker, and the nut low, respectively. Unfortunately, the dealer swept all the chips into one pile, and the two short stacks weren't even in chips to start the hand. It took a few minutes to sort everything out, but Randy Ohel managed to direct the splitting of the pot until every player was paid out the correct amount.

On 5th street Norman Chad showed {5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} to his opponent's {10-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, and Chad called his opponent's 1,200 bet. Chad received the {q-Clubs} on 6th street, and his opponent checked when he saw his {5-Clubs}. Chad bet and his opponent called. Both players checked the river, and Chad's opponent showed {7-}{10-}{3-}/{10-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for tens up. Chad mucked his hand and is now down to 13,000.

Phan Folds One

Level 9

Razz

Two-time bracelet winner John Phan completed from early position with {a-Clubs} and was called in one spot by a player with a {2-Spades}. They both caught babies on fourth so Phan kept the lead, but Phan's opponent bet into him after Phan picked up a king and his opponent a jack on fifth. Phan made the call, only to see a {10-Clubs} on sixth and another baby for his opponent. Phan contemplated for awhile before ultimately deciding to fold.

Brunson bet, his opponent called, and Brunson revealed {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-} for a 6-low despite. His opponent mucked, and Brunson now sits with 14,000.
