Big Pot; Bush Odd One Out

Level 11

Stud Eight or Better

We arrived at the table on the river, which was contested three ways with four-bet action, resulting in the following showdown.

Scott Bohlman: {a-}{4-}{6-}/{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Nick Guagenti: {10-}{k-}{9-}/{k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Dustin Bush: {x-}{x-}{x-}/{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Bohlman won the low with 6-4. Guagenti won the high with a full house, and Bush mucked. After the hand, Bush claimed he held a 7-5 low on fifth street, but after being bested by Bohlman he is down to about 30,000. Bohlman is up to 28,000, while Guagenti sits with 42000.

Kathy Liebert Eliminated

Level 11

Stud

After Andrew Brown completed with a {10-Diamonds}, Kathy Liebert raised showing {a-Diamonds}. Brown called. On fourth street, Liebert bet out after receiving the {10-Clubs}, and Brown raised with his {j-Hearts}. Liebert re-raised, and Brown called. Liebert bet out again on fifth street after receiving the {k-Hearts}, and Brown called with the {5-Diamonds}. Brown paired his five on sixth street and bet out. Liebert called with a {2-Hearts}. Brown bet out again on the river, Liebert called all-in, and it was time for a showdown.

Andrew Brown: {10-}{10-}{7-}/{10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Kathy Liebert: {x-}{x-}{x-}/{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Liebert mucked and Brown won with his full house. Liebert has now been eliminated from the tournament.

Sweating Out Seventh

Level 11

Stud

We found Roger Houston and Dan Heimiller involved in an exciting pot. Heimiller was all in, and Houston had all but 400 of his chips in the middle.

Houston: {q-}{q-}{x-}{x-}{x-}{x-}
Heimiller: {6-}{3-}{3-}{3-}{10-}{8-}

Houston turned over his last card: {q-} to pull ahead with better trips. Heimiller needed to fill up or his tournament was over. He rolled over a {6-}, and he pumped his fist as he had indeed caught what he needed.

"Wow," a player at the table said. "I don't think I've ever said 'wow' to a stud hand."

Houston busted shortly after.

Regan Rolls a Wheel

Level 11

Razz

On 6th street, John Regan bet out with a board reading {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, and Mikail Tulchinsky called showing {8-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Regan bet out again on the river, and Tulchinsky again called. Regan turned over {2-}{4-}{j-} for a wheel, and Tulchinsky mucked.

A player not in the hand seemed to think that Regan had deliberately turned over his jack first to give the impression he only had jack-high. Tulchinsky, though, stayed away from any criticism of his opponent.

Kings No Good for Miami John

Level 11

Omaha Eight or Better

"Miami" John Cernuto raised pre-flop, and Andrew Brown, seated directly to Cernuto's left, re-raised. Cernuto made the call and the two players saw the flop fall {6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Cernuto checked, Brown bet, then Cernuto reluctantly folded, turning two of his hold cards face up to show a pair of kings.

Ortynskiy

Level 11

Omaha Eight or Better

We found Viatcheslav Ortynskiy firing a bet on the river with a board of {k-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Ortynskiy's opponent called after mulling things over, but he didn't like what he saw. Ortynskiy showed {a-}{a-}{5-}{6-}, aces for high and an ace-six for low. Both hands were good, and Ortynskiy scooped the pot.
