Schwartz Raises the Stakes

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Evan Schwartz raised it up to 2,600 preflop and James Dempsey called from the cutoff. the flop came {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} and Schwartz bet 4,100. Dempsey called and they went to the turn. The turn came {2-Hearts} and this time Schwartz checked. Dempsey went into the arsenal and came out with 6,800.

This was not enough for Schwartz and he bumped it up to 20,000. Dempsey did not like this but after some time elected to fold.

Schwartz mucked and he now sits with 127,000. Dempsey is down to 20,400.

Filippi Busts Another One

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Amnon Filippi was just involved in a rather big pot and the end result for him is a whole lot of new chips. On a {5-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop he check-raised the cutoff's 6,400 bet to 20,000. The cutoff shoved for an unknown amount of chips, and Filippi called immediately.

The cutoff showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} while Filippi had {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The {K-Hearts} on the turn didn't look to good for Filippi but the {K-Clubs} on the river did. Amnon had his opponent covered and started stacking his new chips while the dealer shouted "Pay out table 443!" Filippi didn't make his stacks twenty high so we had some trouble counting, but it looks like he has at least 130,000.

Joe Cada Doubles

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

When we arrived the dealer was leaning over the table counting Joe Cada's stack. In the end the number was 50,200 and Cada's next door neighbor had to stack that amount of chips off and give it to Cada. Cada had his {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} still in front of him and the board was also still out there: {3-Clubs}{A-Spades}{9-Hearts} | {5-Hearts} | {7-Clubs}. What Cada's opponent had, or how and when all the chips went into the middle in this battle of the blinds, we do not know. What we do know is that Cada had well over a 100,000 in chips.

Schwartz Keeps Winning; Gets Double Knockout

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

A late position player raises up to 2,700. The cutoff re-raises all in for not much more. Evan Schwartz pops the action again on the button making it 8,200 to go. The initial raiser calls and they take a flop with one player all in. The flop fell {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. The initial raiser ships all in on the flop. Schwartz calls and all three players flipped up their hands.

Schwartz: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Late Position Opponent: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Short Stack Cutoff: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Schwartz had his opponents in trouble. The {7-Diamonds} and {2-Clubs} on the turn and river officially sent Schwartz opponents packing. Schwartz got the double knockout and he is sitting with 168,000

More Chips for Cada

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Again we saw Joe Cada involved in a pot and again he was on the receiving end at the end of the hand. This time the pot was a lot smaller and it was not him at risk, but his opponent. Cada had {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} allin against {A-Spades}{9-Spades} and the board read {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} | {7-Diamonds} | {J-Diamonds}. Neither player improved and the ace-king high from Cada took down the pot.

Joe Cada is already having one heck of a series. He recently finished 4th in the $1500 six-max event earlier this series. He is try to make another deep run here.

We caught him getting looked up by an opponent preflop when Cada pushed all in. The two flipped up their cards and Cada saw that it was a race.

Cada: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. The turn kept Cada in the lead with the {6-Clubs}. The river made it official with the {8-Spades}. Cada eliminated his opponent and he is in prime position to make it very deep as he is amoung the chip leaders as we continue the beginning of this day 2 restart.

Fourth Largest Stack is Gone

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Kevin Zhang came into today as the fourth largest stack in the room. Zhang was expecting to make a deep run. Somehow amidst these two levels Zhang lost his way and found himself eliminated from the tournament. It was one of the fastest exits for one of the chip leaders we have seen in a long, long time.
