We knew that Table 36 was littered with talent. It had Cylus Watson, Andrew Lichtenberger, Tyler Patterson, Steve Brecher, and Phil Hellmuth.
That was to say that they had Phil Hellmuth. We walked by his table and he was not there.
But the table can not relax because the player that replaced Hellmuth was none other then the dangerous Jeff Madsen. He has chips too. Over 33,000 of them. This table will be on watch as all the top players have some chips and should promise some good action.
A quick note that the final table of the bronze section is about to be broken, meaning that all players will either be in the gold or silver section. The board says 440 players, and we are paying 198. With three levels still to play tonight, will we get to the money before night's end?
We heard the dealer announce all in at Jared Hamby's table, and noticed that it was in fact Hamby who was moving his chips into the middle. Here was the situation as we got there. The flop had come down , and Hamby had moved all in after his opponent bet 4,000. Hamby had his opponent slightly outchipped, and eventually, his opponent announced call.
Hamby:
Opponent:
Despite his opponent having top pair, Hamby was actually a 55% favorite according to the Pokernews odds calculator. Well that number jumped up to 100% after the dealer put the on the turn, giving Hamby the nuts. The meaningless river was the , and after collecting that pot, Hamby is back up to 33,000.
The board ran out a straight and Huy Nguyen bet out a pot size bet of 5,000. Action was to Taylor Paur and he took some time. He had to decide if Nguyen had a king for a bigger straight or if Nguyen was trying to bet Paur off a chopped pot.
Paur had less then 5,000 and it went into the middle.
Nguyen showed for the king high straight and that eliminated Paur. Nguyen now has 39,000.
We arrived to the table as we saw both Paul Wasicka and Chirs Moorman tabling their cards after a huge preflop raising war saw over 90,000 chips go into the middle. Wasicka's was well ahead of the of Moorman, and he stayed ahead as the board ran down .
It took the dealer quite some time to count out both player's stacks, as both had a ton of chips, including alot of green T25's and black T100's. Eventually, it was determined that Wasicka had Moorman covered by just over 1,000. After that pot, Wasicka is now our big chip leader, with just under 100,000.
