Mizzi Missing

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Sorel Mizzi is no longer an active participant in this tournament. We just saw him standing up and leaving the tournament area. He had flopped a straight with {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} but the turn had given his opponent a flush with his {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}: {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades} | {3-Spades} | {5-Diamonds}. At what time the chips went in exactly is unclear, but we are sure that Mizzi is gone from todays $1,500.

Gamini Catches Thomas With His Hand in the Cookie Jar

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Arshin Gamini opened from unter-the-gun plus one to 3,300 and received a call from Russell Thomas (middle position), the cutoff and the player in the small blind. Four way to the flop: {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. The small blind checked to initial raiser Gamini who checked as well. Russell Thomas bet 8,000 and the cutoff and small blind folded. Gamini made the call however and check called another 13,500 on the {4-Spades} on the turn. The river was the {J-Clubs} and Gamini checked to Thomas for the third time. Thomas counted out 26,200 and put that in the middle. Gamini thought for a little while, and then made the call. Thomas mucked his hand and for a second it looked like Gamini wanted to do the same. At the last second he turned over his hand though and showed the table (and the world) he had made a hero call with {A-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Madsen Gone

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We're just a little bit too late, a little bit too often today. Again we missed all the action but again we were in time to write down the cards. Jeff Madsen was leaving the table and his chips were on their way to the small blind. From the cutoff Madsen had gotten it in with {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. The small blind had {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} but at what moment the chips went in is unclear. The board didn't improve anyone with {Q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds} | {5-Hearts} | {5-Clubs}. Both made a full house out of their pocket pair, but the kings from the small blind stayed best.

Mohsin Charania
Mohsin Charania

The hijack opened to, what appeared, 3,500 and Mohsin Charania on the button made the call. The player in the small blind made a three-bet to an unknown amount and both the hijack and Charania made the call. Three players saw the {2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop and the small blind bet out 13,500. The hijack folded immediately but Charania on the button made the call. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and appeared harmless. The small blind checked to Charania who bet a mere 9,000. The small blind thought for a second and then announced all in. Charania made the call instantly and had the small blind drawing slim with his {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Only an eight could save the small blind who had tabled {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The {9-Clubs} on the river was just adding insult to injury and didn't help the small blind.
