Hoffman Given Gifts and Chips

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jed Hoffman who finished seventh in Event 14 $1500 No-Limit Hold'em was involved in two nice pots that saw his stack grow exponentially.

The first one he raised to 725 in middle position. A shorter stacked player with a bit over 4,000 pushed all in from the button. The blinds folded and Hoffman took sometime but made the call.

Hoffman: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Opponent:{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} and Hoffman was given a major gift as his opponent's weak holding did not win.

The very next hand Hoffman raised it up again to 650. This time his opponent on the button called him. The two took a flop of {7-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Hoffman bet out 1,125 and his opponent called. The turn came the {5-Hearts} and this time Hoffman checked. Hoffman's opponent bet out 1,900. Hoffman grabbed more than calling chips as he made a raise to 5,200. Hoffman's opponent made the call and they took a river of the {a-Clubs}. Both players checked and they flipped up their cards. Hoffman {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} made two pair and that took down the nice pot.

With both pots Hoffman bumped up to 28,000.

Polychronopoulos Sends One Home

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

It's only been 4 days since Athanasios Polychronopoulos won his second bracelet in Event #17: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em, and he's already got his sights set on another one here today as he is accumulating a decent amount of chips.

Action in a recent hand began with Konstantin Puchkov opening to 750. He got one call before Polychronopoulos raised to 2150 from the small blind. The player in the big blind moved all in for only a bit more. Puchkov folded, and did the first caller after some thought. Polychronopoulos called and it was off to a showdown.

Polychronopoulos: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Big Blind: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {3-}{q-}{K-}{8-}{10-} giving Polychronopoulos the winning set and the decently sized pot.

Marquez Wins Big

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

With a board of {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs} out, Ana Marquez had a bet of 4,800 placed in front of her from the big blind. The player in hijack seat called.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and Marquez bet enough to put her opponent all in for roughly 10,000. Her opponent didn't think long at all before making the call. Marquez showed {K-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for flopped trips that turned into the nut flush and her opponent mucked his hand and got up from the table to leave.
