Cantu Busts Vedes

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Tommy Vedes
Tommy Vedes

Daniel Negreanu raised to 3,500 from first position. Brandon Cantu called on the button, Tommy Vedes called out of the small blind, and Erick Lindgren min-three-bet to 5,400 from the big blind. All three players called.

The flop fell {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, Vedes open-shipped for 7,200, and the action folded to Cantu, who called.

Vedes: {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Cantu: {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The {a-Diamonds} on the turn was a brick, Cantu was already open-ended, but the {j-Clubs} spiked on the river to give him Broadway. Vedes was eliminated, and here are counts from the table:

Lieu Ships Most of Stack Again

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Last time Paul Lieu had sent a bunch of his chips away. He apparently doubled because he had chips when we saw him a few minutes ago. But yet again he sent most of his stack away when his opponent pulled a river full house of {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} on a {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades} board. Lieu did not seem to happy and after the count he went down to 13,000. We will see if he can double again or if he finally gets shipped off for good.
