Schneider Within Striking Distance of Second Bracelet of the Summer

Level 26

Limit Hold'em

Greg Mueller raised from the cutoff and Tom Schneider called from the big blind. Both players checked the {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{a-Clubs} flop and then Schneider led out for 60,000 on the {8-Spades} turn. Mueller instantly raised to 120,000, Schneider called and then both players checked the {10-Spades} river.

Schneider confidently rolled over the {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a flopped straight and it was good as Mueller mucked.

"He played it perfectly," Mueller admitted to Schneider's wife, Julie, who is sweating her husband from the rail.

Nice Roll Out for Mueller

Level 26

Stud Hi-Lo

Benjamin Scholl completed and Greg Mueller raised. Viatcheslav Ortynskiy made the call, as did Scholl before Mueller's bet on fourth pushed only Ortynskiy out. On fifth Mueller bet and Scholl folded.

Ortynskiy: {X-}{X-} / {5-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} (folded on fourth)
Scholl: {X-}{X-} / {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Mueller: {X-}{X-} / {5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}

Ortynskiy Fills Up

Level 26

Stud

Viatcheslav Ortynskiy: {x-}{x-} / {8-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} / {x-}
Benjamin Scholl: {x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} / {x-}

Viatcheslav Ortynskiy brought it in and then called when Benjamin Scholl completed. Ortynskiy then called bets from Scholl on fourth and fifth streets before raising his bet on sixth up to 120,000. Scholl made a quick call and then check-called a bet on seventh.

Ortynskiy rolled over the {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades} for a full house, and Scholl mucked his hand. Ortynskiy's supporters, of which there are a few on the rail from Russia, erupted in celebration for their man.

Adam Friedman Eliminated in 6th Place ($52,613)

Razz

After having the {Q-Spades} the previous hand, Adam Friedman found the {K-Spades} and had the bring-in. Tom Schneider called before Benjamin Scholl completed. Friedman moved all in for his last 33,000 and both players called.

Schneider led on fourth and fifth streets with Scholl calling and then folding to leave his and Friedman's board to run out as follows.

Friedman: {8-}{3-} / {K-}{8-}{10-}{10-} / {9-}
Schneider: {J-}{8-} / {2-}{9-}{7-}{4-} / {7-}
Scholl: {X-}{X-} / {6-}{J-}{4-} (folded on fifth)

With Friedman unable to best Schneider's 9-8 low, he was out the door in 6th place for a $52,613 payday.

Klodnicki Spikes River to Double Through Friedman

Level 26

Omaha Hi-Lo

A short-stacked Chris Klodnicki raised to 60,000 under the gun only to have Adam Friedman, who was short himself, three-bet to 90,000. Action folded back around to Klodnicki and he contemplated what to do. He only had 48,000 back, but he still opted just to call. When the flop came down {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Spades}, Klodnicki bet his last 18,000 and Friedman called.

Klodnicki: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Friedman: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}

When the {7-Diamonds} turned, Klodnicki stood in preparation to make his exit. Fortunately for him, he got to sit back down when the {8-Clubs} spiked to give him the flush.

Schneider Quartered

Omaha Hi-Lo

Viatcheslav Ortynskiy went to raise, but put in a string bet so therefore was bound to just a call. Tom Schneider completed from the small blind and Benjamin Scholl checked his option to see a {2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop fall.

The action was checked to Ortynskiy who bet out 30,000 only to have Schneider raise to 60,000. Scholl folded and Ortynskiy called before he smooth-called a 60,000-chip bet from Schneider when the {5-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Schneider then led out for 60,000 on the {6-Spades} river before Ortynskiy raised to 120,000. Schneider instantly called tabling his {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, but it would be Ortynskiy's {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} that would see him take three quarters with a better straight and a chopped low.
