Nguyen's Got the Nuts

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

We came into the action with nearly 4,000 chips already in the pot and the board reading {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. Soi Nguyen was first to act and he took that opportunity to bet out 2,400 chips. The only other player in the hand took a few seconds to think about it before throwing in a call.

"I got the nuts," Nguyen said before turning over the {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

The other player mucked and Nguyen scooped in the big pot.

Back in Black

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

There aren't a ton of tables in the black section of the Pavilion room as that is the first section to break, but that doesn't mean there aren't a few notables shuffling chips over there. We also spotted Christian Harder and Kevin Saul take their seats in the white section.

Lee Busts One

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

After losing a few chips to start the day, Bernard Lee has started finding some momentum after eliminating a player.

When we came to the table, the board read {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Lee had a bet of 75 in front of him. A player with position on Lee put in a reraise to 250 and all other players folded. Lee moved all in only to be snapped called by the other player.

Lee had {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, for the nut flush, while the other player had flopped a set with {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. He was unable to fill up on the {5-Diamonds} river though and Lee scooped the pot pushing him to nearly 4,000 chips.

White Noise

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

This is going to be a big one folks. The clock already reads 1500 entrants with registration still open, and we still have teh Day 1b flight as well. We just went through one section of the pavilion, the white section, and found these notables in their seats.
