Olisar On Top

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Ryan Olisar
Ryan Olisar

Ryan Olisar is on top of the chip counts entering the final level of Day 2 thanks to a double elimination on the last hand of Level 17.

One player was all in for about 70,000 with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, another for about 100,000 with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, and Olisar had them both in bad shape with {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}.

The board ran out a harmless {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, vaulting Olisar into the chip lead.

"That's What I Wanted To Do To You All Day!"

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We caught up to a big hand on the turn involving Kenny Nguyen and one other player. With the board reading {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} Nguyen checked. The player bet 16,000 and Nguyen called.

On the {Q-Diamonds} river, Nguyen checked again. This time the player put out a bet of 60,500. After thinking for a few seconds Nguyen moved all in with a covering stack.

"It's really close," the player said, but finally folded his hand.

Nguyen decided to give the players at the table a free show and he turned up the {6-Clubs}. Most of the table erupted in laughter.

"Don't hurt him!" Ryan Tepen pleaded.

"That's what I wanted to do to you all day," Nguyen told Tepen.

"Can't do that," Tepen said. "I always have it."

Vladimir Geshkenbein Crosses 400K

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Vladimir Geshkenbein opened to 8,500 from UTG+2 and the player in the small blind called to see a {9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

After the player in the small blind checked, Geshkenbein bet 9,000. His opponent called, the {10-Hearts} hit the river, and the player in the small blind checked again. Geshkenbein's river bet resulted in a quick fold from his opponent.

Cooper Doubles Through Tepen

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Michael Cooper just got a double up courtesy of Ryan Tepen. Preflop Tepen raised to 8,000. Cooper immediately reraised all in over the top for 26,500 more.

"I don't have a very good hand," Tepen said before putting in a call.

Tepen: {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Cooper: {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {J-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} giving Cooper the nuts, and the {6-Clubs} on the turn and {A-Clubs} on the river changed nothing.

After the hand Cooper moved to 89,000 in chips while Tepen fell to 240,000.

Sylvestre Takes Monster Lead After Eliminating Thompson

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
The aftermath of the massive hand.
The aftermath of the massive hand.

A massive hand just took place over on Table 445 that saw one player pull out to a massive chip lead.

We're not 100% on the details, but the following is what we could piece together from various accounts from the table and the rail.

It began with A.J. Thompson opening for 8,000 and receiving calls from the small blind and Charles Sylvestre, who was in the big. Two checks on the {5-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop saw Thompson bet 17,500, the small blind fold and Sylvestre wake up with a check-raise to 50,000. Thompson responded with a three-bet to 125,000, Sylvestre moved all in with what turned out to be the {5-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Thompson called off his stack holding the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}.

Thompson held an overpair but it was behind the flopped two pair of Sylvestre. Neither the {3-Spades} turn nor {2-Spades} river helped Thompson and he was eliminated from the tournament while Sylvestre raked in a pot of approximately 600,000!

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We arrived at Seth Berger's table and found him on the button, contemplating a decision after the player in the big blind was all in for 62,000.

After a little while in the tank, Berger called with {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. His opponent tabled {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Berger collected the pot when the board ran out {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}.
