Some of these players were already seated, some of them just bought in. One in the latter category was Taylor Paur who we saw registering and picking up his 3,000 chips not long a go. He just busted in the $3,000 Mix Max where Jason Koon beat him in the heads up stage of the tournament. Koon is through to round two where he'll battle Mike Watson. Taylor Paur, who already won a $1,000 event and thus a bracelet this year, will give it a go in Brasilia with 20 big blinds.

'The Master' Folds to Live Another Day

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

With {Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{6-Clubs} | {8-Diamonds} on board, the big blind had checked to Men 'The Master' Nguyen who was seated under-the-gun plus one. He made it 1,500 with just 950 behind in an already sizable pot. The big blind double checked how much Nguyen was playing behind, and then announced all in. Nguyen thought about it for awhile, but eventually folded showing the {K-Diamonds}. The big blind showed the {K-Hearts} and started stacking his new chips.

Moneymaker Wins on the Turn

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We caught up with Chris Moneymaker in a heads-up hand with an opponent. Moneymaker, who was just recently moved into the Brasilia room, opened the betting preflop to 225 from middle position. His opponent in late position called.

The flop came {6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, and both players checked. The turn came {a-Clubs} and Moneymaker let out a bet of 350. His opponent folded, building up Moneymaker's stack to around 9,500.

De Goede All In

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Pim de Goede made a final table back in 2011 where he finished fourth in a $1,500 event for $168,334. Earlier this series he finished eleventh in the $1,500 pot-limit tournament. Today he's here in the Pavilion Room to prove that he also knows his ways in a $1,000 event.

He was already off to a good start, and added some new chips just now in a pot we can only describe as a present. De Goede raised under the gun to 250 with pocket queens and saw the player on the button shove all in for 1,200. The small blind isolated by raising to 2,000 with 6,000 behind. Now the big blind made the cold call and the decision was back on De Goede. He pushed all in, having everybody involved covered. Both the small blind and the big blind folded and thus De Goede was heads up and already certain of winning the big side pot. He also claimed the main pot as his queens crushed the dreams of the button who had pushed with fives.
