Big Stacks & Tequila

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Over at Kyle Julius table the waitress has been delivering shots of tequila for at least two times now. Kyle Julius, Lauren Kling, Mazin Khoury and some others at the table are partying it up today, that's for sure. John Racener, one table over, seemed interested but is staying sober for now. Here are some chip counts from tables in the neighborhood:

Straight Flushed

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jake Cody raised to 825 from early position and action folded to the player in the big blind. The big blind went all in for 3,400 and Cody made the call and had him covered.

Cody: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Big Blind: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}

It was a race prior the {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop and Cody didn't find much help. The {8-Clubs} turn opened up plenty of possibilities as Cody needed any club, queen, jack or ten. The {j-Clubs} river gave Cody a straight flush to bust his player and pad his stack nicely.

Duval Slides A Little

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante
Jason Duval
Jason Duval

We came to the action with 1,700 in the pot and a {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop on the board. Jason Duval, in late position, bet 1,750 and the player on the button called.

Duval check-called the player on the button's bet of 1,025 on the {a-Diamonds} turn and his 2,300 bet on the {9-Hearts} river. Duval mucked his hand after his opponent showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. Even though Duval took a hit this hand, he is still sitting with an above-average stack.

520 Players Left

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Amongst the latest casualties are British pro's Liv Boeree and James Dempsey who are chatting on the rail. The Pavilion Room is already empty for hours, the red section of the Brasilia is so too and Bronze is almost empty. That leaves just the Gold and Silver tables left to play at. It's going really fast today.

Musumeci's Misery

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante
Amanda Musumeci
Amanda Musumeci

A player in late position moved all in for his final 3,725 with {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Amanda Musumeci called from the cutoff with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades} leaving Musumeci only 50. She would bust on the next hand.

Bakes Back On The Rise

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

A middle position player limp-called David "Bakes" Baker's raise of 800 from the cutoff.

Both players checked the {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop. Baker's opponent check-called his 1,000 bet on the {q-Clubs} turn.

His opponent checked the {5-Clubs} river and Baker made it 1,800 to go. The player moved all in and Baker called for his remaining 2,200. Baker held {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} for a flopped set and his opponent showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a pair of queens. Baker secured a needed double up.
